Good morning everyone
I am new to the forum but have owned Citroen's since I was 17.
I have a 2000 Citroen Xantia and have a fault with the interior lights, which won't go out when the doors are shut unless you turn them off manually. The door open warning light also stays on all the time. I thought it might be a faulty relay but any thoughts would be much appreciated.
The other problem is one of the rear doors won't lock when the central locking is applied. It is the only one.
If anyone has any ideas, they would be gratefully received.
Thank you
Julian

Re: Citroen Xantia interior lights
Hi, and to the forum.
I had an issue with a Xantia in the past where the rear doors weren't locking. This was due to the wiring in the rubber concertina sleeve between the door and the pillar failing (Citroen don't leave enough slack in the wiring to allow for flexing). I got a load of wiring (1 meter lengths of differing colours), some heat sleeving, cut wires to 25cm (more than enough length) and soldered them into the damaged sections. The doors all then were part of the 'central locking team'! The lighting may well be affected by the same problem, as the lights are triggered from the switches in the locks.

Thank you both for your thoughts. I will start with the wiring between the doors.
Have a good weekend.

Mine started doing this a few weeks ago, usually on wet days, I got out my aerosol of GT85 with the long straw attachment and soused all four lock mechanisms, it took two goes but now all is good.

..."experts"
there are separate switches for each door opening... the design is not the best really

Re: Citroen Xantia interior lights
I have a feeling (but could be wrong) that the boot light switch (under the trim on the lower closing panel) also brings on the interior lights.
On a late Xantia, I think that Lexia will tell you which switch is operated.
