Where was the message coming from - the multifunction screen / dashboard or your diagnostic tool? If the dash / Display, did you have a warning lamp or just a message - and if a warning lamp, what lamp was it - a photo would be useful.

Re: Water in Diesel Filter Error - But on a 1.6 Petrol
Ok so you have the Petrol 16V 1.6I 110 TU5JP4 engine.
The signals transmitted for this output are from the Engine Relay Unit, and can be either for the Water in Diesel Sensor, Engine Oil Pressure Switch, Engine Oil Level Sensor, Engine Coolant Temp. Sensor or Screen / Headlamp Washer Fluid Level.
The SERVICE light on this can mean any of the following, some I have marked in brackets obviously won't be relevant to your car.
Emissions fault (risk to the catalytic converter).
Suspension fault. (Won't be relevant)
Engine oil level warning.
Battery charge.
Stability control fault (ESP).
Deflation warning.
Tyre under-inflation detection fault.
Transponder fault.
Water in diesel fault. (Won't be relevant)
Front airbag fault.
On-board diagnosis fault.
ABS fault.
Minimum screen wash level.
LPG fault. (won't be relevant)
Minimum level of diesel additive (FAP). (Won't be relevant)
Maintenance warning.
Main beam headlamps fault.
Dipped beam headlamps fault.
Foglamps fault.
Revolving lights fault.
Direction indicators fault.
Stoplamps fault.
Reversing lamps fault.
Lateral trajectory monitoring fault.
Automatic gearbox fault (Won't be relevant)
So the best thing to do is get it diagnosed with a decent code reader and if you have any faults, put them up here and we may be able to give you some pointers. It's likely to be an emissions fault though on a petrol.

Re: Water in Diesel Filter Error - But on a 1.6 Petrol
Will get a diagnostic done next week and let you know, thanks so much.
Had issues with the fuel pump not getting power so had to run a wire with a switch directly to the pump.
I suspect some serious bsm problems.
Will check it out
Thanks again
