Yes thanks for the generosity, I can see now that c and l didnt quite match the card. Its probably not giving too much away to others who may wish to play along, but with one of your favourite sports, and the recent flag jigsaw my first guess at "k" was AH, which was subsequently corrected by an ask the audience lifeline! :-D

Indeed I doubt that will help anyone!! However the correct picture would have qualified for the quiz, well spotted. :)

I've got a copy of that book... Given to me as a Christmas present a few years back...

It sadly illustrates my mental/cognitive dysfunctions very starkly :( I don't think I ever solved one...

It's just an ornament these days but deeply cherished because of who gave it to me, most sincerely thinking that it would help me :)

It didn't and made me despondent I was unable to make anything of it... A few years earlier I'd have had a great time with it...

I remain rubbish at quizzes of any sort :(

I'd hate to do an IQ test... I'd be lucky to reach double figures

Can't even do a simple crossword these days, let alone a cryptic one

For those of you familiar with Road Tax/Vehicle Excise Duty history as it applied in February 1965 state your case with evidence (for the award of no points), for a date other than the end of February 1965.

Meanwhile let's assume the answer is the end of February 1965 for the obvious date, as plastered on the tax disc on the Aston's windscreen
