Some are and some aren't made anymore, it depends on the exact harness for the build date and model, options and equipment. They are all different. But I would get it looked at first to check the shared voltage as it could be a short, connector issue or the valve.

At service they made forced burning. Soot in FAP is now zero, but total load of FAP still 85. Probably I have to buy a new one or clean that one. Cleaning here in Finland costs about 4-500 euros, including removing and refitting. A sparepart costs 250 - 400 euros, original about 1000 euros.

Now I wonder, that is a BM Catalysts a proper one? Do you guys have any knowledge about that? What kind of quality their product usually are?

Is it worth of money?

You can always get it cleaned ion place without removing it. There are products and kits available to garages now to clean these up on a ramp by spraying in a chemical cleaner. You may want to try that first.

Here's an example of a kit available - there are many others:

I believe somebody recently had their filter cleaned by a company using a carefully controlled measured input of hydrogen into the air intake. Check on the last page of the following thread, sixth post;

Thanks for reply! I'm a bit skeptic with those chemicals. I know, that they can work, but I also know, that many of them are just rubbish. I rather pay a little bit more, if I can get guaranteed, that it works. Those chemicals might be good, but I doubt it.

Is here how many, who have use those; for ex. JLM products?

Well we have a lot of auto centres here in the UK that now offer a DPF cleaning service using these chemicals - and JML make additive fluid too, so I think they would know :-D Your choice, but a clean maybe a lot cheaper than replacing the filter - your choice of course.

Probably JML could be an option. I haven't find any auto center, who offers that kind of service. Here is quite many companies, who offer dpf wash so, that it's taked away from car. Cost is too much, IMHO.

I'll ask about JML from my service guys.

Do you have good experiences about JML?

Not personally, I've never used them but they are quite popular over here.

I think that kit in the JML video is aimed at independent garages who want to offer a DPF cleaning service, as I imagine the gun and kit would be quite expensive to buy for an individual / casual DIYer and wouldn't be cost-effective for an operation that you would probably only use occasionally. I just wanted to show you the sort of things that are available in garages now.

Thanks for that info! I have find many other chemicals, which in my opinion, are a bit rubbish. However, this JLM product family seems to be a quality staff. They did fill my cars eolys with JLM's stuff, so it can be worth of try. At least I think, that I'm not loosing much. If it doesn't work, I can buy new dpf then.

Now I need to find out, that what auto center make this kind of wash in my area.

Ok, well good luck - I should image the chemicals will be similar - they need to be effective at removing the ash and the unburned Cerine deposits as well as all the engine debris that gets caught in the filter - without damaging the special cement that holds the filter in place.

The thing about every video and bit of information I've seen is that NONE of them have tested PSA DPFs. What happens with the Cerine residue? Is it soluble in alkali or acid?

If it isn't soluble then even if all the other soot and ash is removed by flushing in the direction of exhaust flow the Cerine residue is left behind meaning you can never clean a PSA DPF out as much as a non-PSA DPF. The DPF needs reverse flushing which effectively means cleaning off the car.

I've watched video and the tests he does are very informative.

Hi there! I have think about this issue and as a conclusion I'am willing to change that dpf in the future.

I want to keep my car environment frendly and I'm not going to take dpf off, as quite many obvioysly do.

What comes to egr and it's functionality, I have recieved new info, that in FAP app egr % should be zero, untill airflow sensor gives temperatures over +10 degrees.

Thanks for everybody, who have take part to this conversation.

How about BM Catalysts particel filters? Does anyone have any experiences about those?
