Yes 68,458 for the end of month mileage is a difficult number to generate a link.

So had to have a brief journey to Scotland's Capital. If you are ever in edinburgh and fancy a bit of fresh air and exercise you could walk up to Salisbury Crags. From the top you will be looking down on Dumbledykes, a former slum clearance area of streets and streets of tenements, cleared and new flats provided in the early 1970's.

Well in the context of the Micra end of month mileage this lot reference it as 68,458 Image

The random appearance of Dumbledykes had me thinking.
Image
Wonder if JK Rowling dredged up the name for Dumbledore from the Dumbledykes area of Edinburgh.

She has revealed the thinking behind the first names of Hagrid and Dumbledore
https://ew.com/article/2015/06/23/5-thi ... re-update/

4. Rubeus Hagrid and Albus Dumbledore represent the two sides of human nature:

Rowling writes that the names Rubeus and Albus are derived from red and white, two colors that are traditionally associated with alchemy. Alchemy is the magical theory that base metals can be turned into gold. (Nicolas Flamel studied alchemy, and he created the Philosopher’s Stone, which could turn metals into gold and grant eternal life.) Hagrid represents the red base metal, which is associated with warmth and wildness, while Dumbledore is more in line with gold and the color white, which is impressive and intellectual, but can also be detached.

Very few miles - 194 only, between two of us.
Wasn't sure that that was the right trip meter as it has decided to flash a flat tyre warning that obliterates the display after a few seconds. Apparently it needs turning off but there is no mention of it in the handbook.
I estimate about fifty~sixty for me.
Probably about fifty on foot.
Zero by any other means.

Your mileometer has ticked over to 66455 Steve. Here's a related pic. This record label released some back catalogue stuff on vinyl across many artists. I've just pulled out a track I like. The label was based in Los Angeles and had a PO Box number of.....yes 66455.

Do a mileometer photo for the cars in your stable and post them on the thread to give you a Feb 1st Start point Jim.

I'm sure there will be a little bit of random entertainment from the starting numbers. :-D

I took the red C5 in for MOT last week, it had only done 700 miles since the last MOT! It passed.

Always nice to get them through the MOT without having to do anything Peter. :-D What's the total mileage on the mileometer today? I'm sure we could come up with a random pic for the number :-D

Bit more Co-lateral info on 63420

Couple of extra pics on links
http://www.davesrailpics.bravehost.com/ ... June50.jpg
and an atmospheric engine shed pic
https://www.flickr.com/photos/gricerman ... 3b-FvsE1B/

and there are plenty sources of the chapter and verse on them GCR class 9J LNER Class J11. Certainly look like workhorses. Known as Pom Poms which I thought may because of the bulge but no apparently ‘Pom-Pom’s' was reputedly derived because of the similarity of their exhaust beat to the sound of the quick firing guns in use
by the British Army at that time.

Bit about them on page 2 of this pdf including a colour pic of 63420 from 1954.

Oh that's lovely :D Thanks Mick!

And here's Daffodil's speedo :)

As I say, I very much doubt that will change much unless we have a prolonged spell of nice weather this month and all the road salt is well washed away ;)
