c3 picasso clutch

Unread post by piki »

hi
im about to replace the clutch on my 2012 diesel picasso c3.
how much the parts supposed to cost?
i havent replaced a clutch in a cars my self yet (did some bike and atv's), i have read that valeo or luk are good brands , is it ?
does the flywheel will need to get out and polish it anyway , or just if it has grooves on it?

You'll need to check locally as parts prices here will bear no resemblance to the cost in Israel I suspect.

It's not a simple job - the gearbox has to come out. See my post here for a C3 A51 - almost identical procedure and the gearbox procedure is in a few posts down:

yea i have talked to the local shop here he said he have 2 brands OEM for 750 ils (230 USD), or iseen(or something like that{german}) for 650 ils (200 USD).
why it complicated? is there a need for specipiec tool to remove clutch but the alighment tool? i have seen a guy do that in youtube , looks pretty simple

The tool serves to keep the set in the center and a plastic tube can be used, even a plastic tube is provided with some clutch sets.

how much do i need to worry about flywheel polish , and rear main seal?
i mean if the flywheel looks smood , and i have no leaks from engine to gearbox, is it necessary to take care of those or not ?

The flywheel should not be a problem unless it is two-mass and has too many gaps, it is enough to manually treat the surface with 120 posd sandpaper provided that there is no major damage due to slipping. The rear oil seal if it is dry does not have to be changed.

Although that video is for a C3 MK I or II the procedure and things to follow are similar - but you have the official Citroen guide in my posts for reference so you should have everything you need to do the job. But be aware if not done properly you can end up with vibration and damage.
