Hi again, posting all my issues one by one lol
My remote central locking has never worked since I bout the car almost a year ago. I have put brand new top brand batteries in both fobs and tried to re-sync but nothing!
While using Diagbox for something else I noticed that the High Frequency Module (or however it was referred to) is no present so I'm guessing a wiring issue or a dead module. My question is.................where is it?!?!?!?!?

Re: 2007 C4 Picasso High Frequency Module
The RF reciever for the remotes is integral to the com2000 unit which it the wiper/lighting stalk assembly behind the steering wheel. I’ve never heard of one fail in this way though. If you go into switch module at steering wheel in diagbox you should be able to see live data if the signal is being received. Have you had the remotes output checked?
Try doing a full key reprogramming first then re syncing the remotes.

Re: 2007 C4 Picasso High Frequency Module
Thanks Wheeler.
I'll have a look tomorrow, I was just concerned with Diagbox saying the receiver isn't present.
I've replaced the batteries and followed the re-sync procedure but nothing more. I'm unable to do a full reprogram as I don't have the security code that was supplied with the car when new.
The cruise control doesn't work either which I was going to make a seperate post about but I guess this is also controlled by the Comm2000, can you confirm this is also the case?

If the engine is starting when you turn the key it means that the immobiliser ECU recognises the security chip in the key and is prepared to accept it is valid. I would not necessarily worry about a full re-programming. What you might want to do is a BSi reset, which can clear any 'glitches' (but it cannot clear problems);

Re: 2007 C4 Picasso High Frequency Module
That may be for other countries that use different frequencies like Japan etc. Im not aware of any EU spec picasso models that use a separate receiverbigtone0777 wrote: ↑20 Jan 2021, 22:38

No, the injection ECU controls the cruise control, the com2000 is just the switch to turn it on & set the speed.bigtone0777 wrote: ↑20 Jan 2021, 22:38 The cruise control doesn't work either which I was going to make a seperate post about but I guess this is also controlled by the Comm2000, can you confirm this is also the case?

Re: 2007 C4 Picasso High Frequency Module
That's correct. @bigtone0777: do not change anything in the BSI unless you know what you are doing - some items are not what they appear to be. There is indeed a receiver for places like Japan and it is intended to be blank for non Japanese / Asian cars. So be aware..... you car may not have certain options enabled by design.

That's great info guy's. It might just be the keys then. I've found a place to refurb the key's including the electronics for about £30 each so that might be a good idea, the folding mechanism's knackered on both of them anyway, just didn't want to spend money on a key if the receivers kaput

BSI reset has already been doneHell Razor5543 wrote: ↑20 Jan 2021, 22:48 If the engine is starting when you turn the key it means that the immobiliser ECU recognises the security chip in the key and is prepared to accept it is valid. Re: 2007 C4 Picasso High Frequency Module
Both the RF central locking and the RFID chip reader coil for the key are handled by the HF module.
The HF module is a standalone daughter board that plugs into the COM2000 main board. I would say this facilitates different frequencies and security protocols for different reasons.
So if the car starts and runs then the HF module is there and functioning.
It's possible that the HF module configuration is incorrect, however, who would have changed it and why? Changing certain parameters in the BSI requires a generic 5 digit PIN code (PSA technician access) to save the new configuration.
Programming new RFID chips to start the engine is relatively easy (just need the engine ECU PIN code). However coding plips for the central locking requires either a plip previously coded to that car, a brand new plip or a fifth dan black belt in computer hacking!! It's possible that key's Plip is not coded for that car but a new chip has been coded for the ignition?
If that plip is meant for that car you should be able to go through the "HF plip synchronizing" as outlined in the owners manual. The central locking uses a "rolling code" system and the car and plip can get out of sync. EDIT: looks like you have tried the re-sync.

Yes re-sync procedure already tried. I think I'll get one of the keys sorted and try again.
Thanks for all the help

Re: 2007 C4 Picasso High Frequency Module
I bought a replacement key with PCB from eBay which arrived today. I coded the keys with Diagbox and synced the plip and everything now works as it should
