Re: Trivia Investigation Team
I have an app for that and I will give it a go later. Need to get film on laptop to play track to the phone but I am doing chores this morning so I will have a go if it is still unresolved at lunchtime
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

Re: Trivia Investigation Team
Well the app didn't have a clue so I've done some legwork for you and captured all the music listings in the credits and found this site with the general info on tracks in the film:
https://www.what-song.com/Movies/Soundt ... ippi-Grind
Here are the credit listings from the film:
I'll let you work it out from there!!

Re: Trivia Investigation Team
Thanks Mick.
This is what I believe its a version of it but doesn't match in its speed or instrumentation but includes definite phrases which are the same. If you can be bothered compare the two and let me know what you think. I've started it at the only instrumental bit on the "heels Clickin" original by Paul Wine Jones
Regards Neil

Re: Trivia Investigation Team
Yes I think you have it there, just been adapted to suit the pace of the action, plus it is the first song quoted in the credit list so highly likely to be the first one used!

Re: Trivia Investigation Team
Well I reckon this is in the premier division of Trivia Investigation. I do know the answer to the main question so I can give clues, but I'm sure there will be some additional trivia round about it.
The picture comes from this story on Electrek. Shell buys Ubitricity, UK’s largest EV charging network
So the Main Question

Pretty tricky but there are clues in the image. Hopefully the obvious clue is too blurry to get it straight away.Where's this then

Re: Trivia Investigation Team
I have found conflicting uses of this picture by both London and Portsmouth Councils in their advertising. However my summation is as follows:
1. The street is pretty wide
2. There is a tudor style building
3. The pillar box has a STAMPS label suggesting the other side will be FRANKED suggesting a business district
4. A pub sign across the road appears to have 3 of something and is quite old style
5. The building across the opposite road has a fairly ornate entrance with a flag pole above suggesting military or diplomatic or embassadorial.
6. The lampost is of a type often found in London
7. The street name label appears to have two colours, black for street name and red for postcode.
8. Streetname plates of that height and size are common in London.
So adding all that together I would plump for London, west side around Kensington or Paddington areas!!

Very good so far Mick, nice deduction so I can say its definitely London.mickthemaverick wrote: ↑26 Jan 2021, 17:03 I have found conflicting uses of this picture by both London and Portsmouth Councils in their advertising. However my summation is as follows:

I think you are paddling about the same sort of area as I was. My lead was very much the Lamppost, although I thought the image had "The London Look". The lamppost does tie it to a particular area.

I believe it is The Gunmakers and deserves a tribute: (there is an obscure Avengers link entailed!!)

The "tudor-sytle" half timbered one on the pic is the Tudor Rose Mickmickthemaverick wrote: ↑26 Jan 2021, 17:36 I believe it is The Gunmakers and deserves a tribute: (there is an obscure Avengers link entailed!!)

Aah! I thought you meant the one I was referring to in point 4 of my summary which is across the road from The Tudor Rose

How did you get to Blandford street Mick?mickthemaverick wrote: ↑26 Jan 2021, 18:05 Aah! I thought you meant the one I was referring to in point 4 of my summary which is across the road from The Tudor Rose
My route was the Lamppost Black and Gold, and the insignia on the ones I saw for london was a fancy W and an interlocking C.....which apparently is for Westminster (duke of) and City Council. There was a bogus connection with Coco Chanel who the Duke of Westminster had a dalliance with, and a speculation that the fancy lampposts had the interlocking C accordingly.
The lamppost put it in westminster, and then out came geograph, and image lists to find the half-timbered building.
Google street view confirmed it with the lampost next to the pillar box and a notice on the lamppost indicating that it was an electric vehicle charging point. Not a great street view view because there was a workmans tent just next to
the pillar box and the lamppost spoiling a decent recreation of the scene.

Re: Trivia Investigation Team
When I lived in Watford I drove straight down the A41, across the Marylebone Road, down Baker Street and turned left into Blandford Street.
Seriously:
I used to walk around the area a lot when my daughter was in Great Ormond Street hospital and my wife was still in the Maternity Unit in Watford. It was my way of getting away from the troubles, so I thought I recognised the tudor building. DDG did the rest with a search for Tudor buildings in central london and a wade through the image results!!
