Re: Electric Cars:what's available?
I have seen the new TV ad for the Range Rover Hybrid a few times now and I still am bemused as to why they couldn't use a right hand drive vehicle for a UK TV ad. I can only assume the ad is intended for the US market and we are being given the pleasure of seeing it as an afterthought!!
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

Re: Electric Cars:what's available?
One this to notice is the vehicle reg. It is normally made up from 'reversible' letters and numbers, such as A, H, I, M, 0, 8, and so on. That way the adverts (printed or video) can be used in the vast majority of countries.

Re: Electric Cars:what's available?
I've seen the ad many times too, but cant find it on youtube etc.
Its always unnecessarily difficult to pin down where they are manufactured, more than a decent chance they are made at Halewood but can anyone find out for definite....? I think only the PHEV is of any interest, although bit of an expensive toy to get 30-40 electric miles.
Er.....can't quite work out how you would ever sell even one of these at that price.
Regards Neil

Re: Electric Cars:what's available?
Surprising the Landrover Uk Website doesn't even have the new ad. The ordinary evoque is just in the low £30K range, but the PHEV 300e if you go for a top spec is over £50K and starts low £40's.
The website of Landrover is as clunky as I have come to expect from most of the Car Industry.

I suspect that, should this become a reality, somebody based in Paggers might go and have a look, especially if it comes in this colour!;

Re: Electric Cars:what's available?
Definitely has the look of something that is going to be in a different market from the original Renault 5 which was priced at level where a lot of people could afford it. At the Paris Motor Show Renault put an old style Renault 5 on the stand which had Renault Zoe powertrain.Hell Razor5543 wrote: ↑15 Jan 2021, 13:08 I suspect that, should this become a reality, somebody based in Paggers might go and have a look, especially if it comes in this colour!;

Re: Electric Cars:what's available?
Lexus do fully electric. The adverts for them are the usual awful tell you nothing, loud music, lifestyle-ey thing, so here's a bloke talking about them. Not quite available yet, but on the way.

Game Changer! 5 minutes per 100 miles charging.
https://www.theguardian.com/environment ... ging-times
Couple this with a decent charger network, common plug (with charger clever enough to know how fast to charge) and easy credit card payments instead of the myriad of apps and methods we have now, battery electric suddenly gets practical.
