Fuel Feed Unit 2008 CITROEN C5 1.6 hdi

Post by BKS »

Car kept cutting out especially when starting to move after stopping and at times limited to 30mph, other times it ran OK. AA said they thought it was the Fuel Feed Unit.
Now trying to discharge fuel line pressure but youtube vid shows Schroeder valve which isn't fitted or can't find, alternative remove Fuel Feed Unit fuse turn over engine to discharge.

Anyone know where the fuse is

What do you mean by fuel feed unit & why are you trying to ‘discharge’ it.

Suppose it may be called fuel pump located top of fuel tank under rear seat. Fuel lines are pressurized,

If the engine has been off for more than 60 seconds the fuel pressure will be pretty much zero.
Does this car definitely have a fuel pump in the tank? Not all of them do. Is there a hand primer on the top of the engine?

Sounds like a possible airleak to me, are the fuel filter connections seated correctly, When I first bought my C5 the fuel pipe connections to the filter where, the best I can say butchered, if I were to park the car on a slope, back end down, the fuel would syphon back to the tank, making it a right sod to restart!!

Thanks Wheeler Car has been idle on driveway for a couple of weeks so pressure must be well gone.

Thanks Sloppysod I did notice some wet on piping, but I trusted the AA knew their job, I will check it out.
