Hi,
I'm after the purpose of Pin 31 on connector EH2 on the Berlingo BSI if anyone can help?
I won't bore you with the entire story yet, but I'm going to be fitting a Cobra A615 alarm system to my 2017 Multispace. I hope to create a step by step guide to this, as it's become fairly complex. Even Cobra, (sorry it's Vodafone now!) have totally conflicting information on their professional installer's website (no less than 4 completely different plans for the Berlingo/Partner from 2008 to 2018). They have, however been very helpful over the phone, once you get to know the number!
Anyhow, I've created a new and accurate connection list, which includes the new requirement for 3 diodes to be soldered in, but try as I might, I can't find the generic purpose of pin 31 on EH2, which requires a "diode-ified" connection to the alarm.
I've searched everywhere I can think of, including an old copy of Sedre to no avail, so all help welcome.

What colour is the connector? is there a wire in this channel? if so can you see a code printed on the wire?
in the meantime i'll see what i can find.

Re: Berlingo BSI pin number function
Hi,
Due to our lovely weather, I've not been into the car yet. I'm just going by the Vodafone drawings they've sent me.
It's connector EH2. It's a blue 40 way socket near the top edge. They say the wire going into it will be violet - (no markings....?)
Thanks Wheeler!

Re: Berlingo BSI pin number function
Almost all PSA wires have codes on them, PSA also prioritise wire codes over colours.
What is this wire meant to be for?
I have a chart for a C4 which is very similar electrical layout to the Berlingo & it shows it as a vacant terminal?
Have you confirmed there is a wire in that terminal? if there is the code on the wire will hopefully reveal more

Re: Berlingo BSI pin number function
Well,
After waiting for the days of heavy rain to stop - the car is now frozen solid and Can't get into the doors! I'll try later, but for now...
"What is this wire meant to be for?" - I don't know what the car uses it for (if anything!) as that was my original concern. As for the alarm, it is connected to one of the 3 diodes shown on my attached photo, then to pin 31 on EH2, together with pins 27 and 29 on EH1.
I'll go and get my ice axe and have another go at getting into the car in a while.

Re: Berlingo BSI pin number function
Got as far as removing the glovebox and lid today!
I actually thought I would then be able to suss out the connectors and wiring without disconnecting the battery and starting the alarm installation.
Hah, naive me! What a rats nest of wiring, connectors and plastic add-on brackets! You can't even see the EH2 connector, let alone work out what is going to pin 31. It's just bundles of wire on top of others, going in all directions! It has all the traceability of a bucket of eels.
I used to build industrial control panels and neatness and orderly wiring make fault finding and maintenance so much easier. Whichever abstract artist thought this one up clearly never needed to work on it.
So, plan "B" in a couple of days (or when it's above freezing!) is to disconnect the battery and begin carefully peeling back the layers of wiring to get my alarm harness soldered in. Then, fingers crossed, put it all back together and have everything work perfectly!

Re: Berlingo BSI pin number function
I've now completed the alarm installation and as on Wheeler's chart for the C4, discovered that Pin31 on EH2 doesn't even exist!
It is clearly shown on the Cobra documentation as a violet wire, but the pin doesn't have anything at all on my car, so I left it unconnected. The alarm all works fine, so it looks like it'll remain a mystery.
