Thanks
That would be useful, however I doubt they will spill the beans - but see if you can get them talking about the issue and coax it out of them :-D

Ok
I took the van to a highly recommend garage( Bosch ) apparently they do work for the main dealers
I was told they are v good but not cheap.
They said it was the telematics module that needed replacing, and that was the only way to stop the flashing.cost including vat was 580£ eeeeek !!
I paid 84£ for the diagnostics and drove home with the light still flashing...I’m not paying that ...
Iv come to terms with having no hands free etc .
But if the flashing odometer is doing my head in

I thought you were going to take it to the main dealers? - only they have the TSB information relating to this service bulletin and would of charged you the same or less for a diagnostic and the solution.

The flashing mileage issue is likely to be down to the CAN Bus due to the faulty bluetooth module. Because the bluetooth module is not working / offline it is causing some problems on the data bus. Replacing the module and a BSI reset will probably resolve both issues.

The part for the telephone interface unit has been replaced 3 times on the Bipper: 1613696780, item 30 below, cost £455.10 inc. VAT!

So if this is not an option, I would suggest that if you can get somebody with a Lexia and the S1279 module, that they could de-install the unit, which would at least stop the flashing.

Hi Robert, no, I’m just saying in general that the manufacturer has modified the telephone interface 3 times. This is because there was the original part number, then a later replacement part, and again a third replacement part number later again. There have obviously been issues with these earlier units. Any new part ordered now would be the later part.

Ahh I understand ..thanks for your help so far..

Iv just looked at the receipt from the garage..

“To investigate cause of flashing mileage & telephone failure.
Fault caused by lack of communication to telematics module.
Carry out wiring checks to module power, ground and data lines.no faults found. New module required.
Cost of module 380£ plus vat plus fitting”

I’m off work tomorrow would a trip to main dealer Peugeot be the next best move in your opinion
Bear in mind in not fussed for the phone .. just stop the flashing

Ok, if you can’t locate a member with suitable kit to do it for you, then I suggest you ring up the main dealer first to get a quote to disable the unit. Have the VIN ready, but state clearly you know there is a technical service bulletin for the flashing odometer as a result of a failed telephone interface unit. Tell them you’ve already had it diagnosed by Bosch as needing a replacement, but you have decided to do without it, but want the flashing to stop.

Explain that you believe disabling the unit in the BSI will prevent the flashing and ask for a quote to do that. They will probably say there is a charge (diagnostic time) to do this but should not take more than a few minutes to do, but they may charge a standard half hour slot. Labour rates are about £90 an hour so be prepared.

No problems, it’s a shame that not too many members have the S1279 commercial add on module for vehicles like the Bipper, or they could of done it for you if you had anyone willing and near to you.

My battery went flat & was like that for days, when I disconnected the battery & recharged the odometer stopped flashing - still no response from the USB or Bluetooth though

Guess mine will be the same problem, main delaers want £108 +VAT to investigate - more than the cost of a Parrot 9200 :/

Telematic units are part of the Head Unit - but if you mean the Bluetooth Hands Free unit then it's under the seat possibly passenger side on a RHD, but you'll have to check.

Yes I have checked and replaced the Bluetooth console with another as I have a flashing mileage on my dash. Keep getting code u1733 and sometimes d733. I've also tried proxy alignment but keeps coming up no active ecu?

Code u1733 says on my snap on convergence node?

Code d733 says no communication with telematic ecu not characterised?
