Re: Burst suspension pipe at rear
I would focus on the height corrector Kenny - when the data received from these is incoherent, all height correction is disabled.

Re: Burst suspension pipe at rear
Yes that’s the part Kenny for the front. That’s just for the sensor, not he angular pickup or ARB lever. If those are fine just reuse, and I’m sure you’re already aware these are not the easiest to get to on the front.

Thanks Marc,
I think I'll will drop the subframe support the rack and do it that way.
No tiny gaps to scratch hands and much easier to replace and lubricate the dog bone and ball joints.
Will report when it is done.

Re: Burst suspension pipe at rear
Well here's another update,
Dropped sub-frame and changed height sensor no problems but found a leak from the bottom of the front nearside strut.
So I think this explains the problem, the pressure has dropped as a result of the leak causing no change in height.
therefore I'll need to change the strut and repressurise the system and I think it will start working again.
I need the part number for the front nearside hydraulic strut.
Any thoughts
Kenny

5271L5 Left
L271L6 Right
£407.52 each inc. VAT from Citroen.
I got my last one from Poland Kenny (genuine struts )- plenty here from about £200 up. Mine was about £180 at the time.

Yes Richard, it knows its got an MOT soon.
Just remembered this morning I'll need to delete the faults to get things to work. I'll blame it on my age

Re: Burst suspension pipe at rear
Further update,
Tried to pressurize the system nothing happening, depressurised the system and it dropped to lowest setting checked fluid level, fine. tried to pressurize again nothing.
The only thing I did notice no sound from the pump. Fuse G39 has been checked continuity between fuse terminals.
The car has been running fine until last week when speed sensor went.
I cleaned the pump before I fitted the new pipe.
I will check to see if pump is getting a live feed.
But is there anything else which I am missing
Fault codes U1118 x 2 and U2118 reappeared after clearing.

Re: Burst suspension pipe at rear
Your U1118 codes are non-communication with the BSI Kenny and the U2118 is a Triggering (height adjustment receipt anomaly): Not characterised.
So I would double check all the connections to the BHI and pump area as these could of been disturbed. Here's some info on checking the relay:
1) Double check earth connections
2) Check power between track 1 & 2 of the 2-way black connector on the BHI (use a 55W test lamp). If it shines brightly, move onto point 3) below, but if it shines weakly, or doesn't illuminate, check the power supply between the BHI and the relay.
3) Refer to Diagram below:
Shunt the integrated hydro-electronic unit relay (1524) between terminals 3 and 5 (at "a"):
If the integrated hydro-electronic unit operates, then the relay needs replacing.
If the integrated hydro-electronic unit does not operate, check the control line terminal 2 of the electrical relay.

Re: Burst suspension pipe at rear
Thanks Marc you have just answered my next question.
I had a look last night at a genetic wiring diagram for the car and saw there was direct +ve 12 v feed to the pump through the relay.
2 further questions,
Can the relay be replaced on its own ?
Can the spring bushes with the pump be found and replaced ? I've done this in the past on a xantia starter motor.
Kenny
PS Can you post the hydraulic wiring diagram specific for my C5 ?
Thanks again.

Re: Burst suspension pipe at rear
Another update, the is a fuse box beside the battery and found F01 which supplies direct to pump is blown. No continuity unable to check live supply as i had to remove the battery gain good access. Checked the rest of the fuses in the box the rest had continuity.
Kenny
PS F13 and G39 both have supply and are good.

Re: Burst suspension pipe at rear
Here you go. I can't see a separate part for the relay, but it is located below in the first diagram in Box 'H' (component 1524).
BFDB is the fuse box at the battery outlet (F01) and that is the supply to the Relay above, travelling along B7740 to Pin 3 in the relay.
