I have a 2015 C5 with the 2.0 BlueHDI 150HP engine and a 6 speed manual gearbox.

I would like to remove the gearbox to get to the clutch and DMF. The PSA removal - refitting says an engine-gearbox assembly should be removed first.
Does anyone have an experience with removing the gearbox leaving the engine in on the right hand mount + support? It looks like there is enough room to do it after removal of the front craddle / subframe.

Lukasz

Re: C5 X7 2.0 BlueHDI Gearbox Removal
I gave it a try with success. It is possible to detach te ML6C gearbox from DW10FD engine and remove it without removing the entire engine-gearbox assembly. It requires removing the subframe but it still seems to be less effort. There is not a lot of room, lowering the gearbox side of the engine a bit helps a lot.
I am responding to my own post just for the record in case someone is looking for the same answer.

Sorry Lukasz, I've just seen this post - but I've previously left this to the garage to do on my X7, but glad you have it sorted.
Please note, I'm no longer active on the Forum, so won't respond to messages.
