Re: First Day thread-One day quest!

Post by NewcastleFalcon »

Its a genuine 10plate mick but I only got one shot at it, and it turned out a bit blurry. All to do with discretion, and not wishing to alarm the citizens of busybodyville with obvious curtain twitching flash photography. So the shot was taken in the light of the leaf's headlights one go, no chance of hovering or suspisciously going back for another! It was a drive by one off shot!

I wasn't thinking anything else :-D just thought I'd mention it in case you could improve it from another shot but if you only got the one then it is what it is!! I must admit it does feel a bit iffy when taking the pictures I have to agree so I know where you are coming from! :-D

New Year's Day-2021 Photos

Post by NewcastleFalcon »

Simple. Your FCF needs you :-D

On New Year's Day when you emerge for your "exercise"/ dog walking/ bike riding/ or just wandering around your garden join in take a photo and post it up on this thread.

Got to be the simplest Day one task ever. Everyone has a camera. You don't even have to leave the house...take one from your armchair, photograph an album cover or a book, even take a picture of Champion the Wonder horse on your television (might have to time travel back to the 1960's I admit.)

Your FCF needs you, come on flood the thread with some January 1st photos, no photographic skill, or interestingness threshold.

As ever as the clock strikes midnight on January 1st entries close!

I read the topic title without opening the topic to see what the photo subject was, then went on a walk and took some random photos of the scenery.

This is the Sugarloaf transmitter, about 40 minutes (uphill) walk from home. It went into service in 1963, so could have broadcast the wonderhorse. The building is looking a bit dilapidated now, and the antenna array not as impressive as the old band 1 and band 3 arrays.

Excellent keep them coming, so nice to get one from New Zealand I presume, and with a bit of subject matter which often crops up on our usual POTD thread. Nice to read a bit around it, one of the pleasures of the FCF for me. Here's the wiki page for a start https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Te_Heru_o ... _Sugarloaf

Got the porridge on right now but the hound will be needing walked shortly so its out with the camera on the first walk of 2021 soon.

Meanwhile here's the aftermath of last nights revelry in Northumberland :-D
More evidence that standard of photography is irrelevant to participation in the this thread :-D

Lindisfarne had an album called "Nicely out of tune" this is its photographic equivalent

Here's another idea for a "not far away from your armchair" bit of New Years Day photography that everyone can join in with......

Here's a collection of Calendars from places in England with a motivated tourist board, which when collated form a pleasant calendar in their own right:
