Doesn't make much difference if you pour enough hot brandy sauce over them!! :-D

Mum's Brandy Butter is lethal! The operative word is BRANDY! (Courvoisier is her preferred choice!). You HAVE to wait until the pudding has been out for at least five minutes before putting the brandy butter on it, otherwise it might well re-ignite with a large WHOOMPH (that will take off your eyebrows)!

I hope that one of your presents to Mrs. M was the twin of one she bought you; industrial ear protection! :D

We had a “power cut” at about 1pm - not long after we switched the oven on to heat it up.

Turns out it wasn’t a power cut. It was one of the elements blowing in the oven tripping the breakers! Obviously I switched all the plugs and lights off, reset the breakers and went round switching on each item to see what tripped it. Nothing. Put it to a power surge, left the oven to heat... only it didn’t and we didn’t spot it until 2 ish so we are running a bit late!

Fortunately some friends saved us with use of their oven, and I’m just off to get the turkey now..

Here’s Mrs. Michel with the turkey on it’s way to be cooked!
