Hi everybody, I hope you can help me (again), if I push down on the rear suspension it makes a loud creaking noise. It makes this noise whether the handbrake is on or off, I have spayed WD40 on the the rear shock absorbers but this made no difference.
Thanks Louis

The wheels do seem to be at a funny angle, I also notice the drivers side rear is lower than the passengers side rear, what does this mean? and how do I replace the bushes?
Thanks Louis

It does sound very much like the rear arm bush problem. I had mine replaced. But, mine needed replacement because they have worned out to the point where my rear wheels were rubbing against my read inner mud guards when i make corners. I assume you may not have to do anything if it's not that bad. 3 of my ZXs have the sound.
Over in my country, the bush comes as a set of arms. And they are very expensive. What we do here is to get a machine shop to pump out the bush, refurbish the inner arms where the bush/bearing sits, and reinsert them back on. As the the hight of the rear wheels, they can be adjusted according to your liking.

If I remove the rear drivers side wheel, you can see scrape marks where the wheel has been rubbing on the inside. What is causing this? and how do I fix it?
Also if I brake quite hard over a bumpy road, you can hear a load banging noise (sounds like the exhaust hitting the underneath of the car), I replaced the rear discs, pads, shock absorbers and lubricated the ends of the torsion bars, but it had made no difference, the car still makes a creaking noise and a banging noise. I have had the exhaust checked and adjusted and this also made no difference, as did the spare wheel when I removed it in case it was that.
Any suggestions Welcome.
Thanks Louis

Mine used to crash and bang over bumps - it was caused by failure of the (rear most) rubber mount bushes that attach the beam to the car - they had delaminated themselves. Only apparent when went for mot, he jacked up rear of car so both rear wheels were free and you could wobble the arms free of the bush. Replaced all four sets and sorted. could it not be them ?
