C5 X7 Disable Opening of All Doors, option disappeared

C5 X7 Disable Opening of All Doors, option disappeared
so in the user manual of the C5 MY2010 it says one can select the unlocking of all the doors or just the driver's door, this option should be found in the confort menu, Plip action.
In my C5 3.0 V6 HDi (with all software updates done) this option isn't there, other C5's of the same period more or less don't have this option either!
For safety reasons I'd like to activate this option to be able to open the driver's door only with a push of the button and all door by pushing it twice, how the hell can I accomplish that if the option isn't there?

Re: C5 X7 Disable Opening of All Doors, option disappeared
It definitely should be there, however, it depends on the configuration of the options in the BSI.
2 things:
1) Make sure the car is at standtill engine off, handbrake on. Next turn on the ignition only. Then access the menu from the scroll button. Some options are not available when the engine is running.
2) Sometimes a software update can reset some of the options and it requires the option to be re-enabled using Diagbox.
The option is accessed by running a Global Test, then selecting the BSI at the top of the ECUs after the Global Test has completed. Select the BSI, and confirm, then locate:- Configuration, Manual Configuration, Customer Options, then the 'Locking – Doors and Tailgate – Immobiliser – Alarm' section. The option will be shown below:- there are 2 possible configuration options:
When actioning unlocking by high frequency remote control:
You should have the second option enabled for an Exclusive with Deadlocking, not the first. So if this is set to All Doors' the menu in the car's instrument panel display may not be showing it as an option.

great! didn't know some options aren't available when engine is on...will try them all and update thanks!
Re: C5 X7 Disable Opening of All Doors, option disappeared
update: menu is the same with engine off, so next steps would be with diagbox, right?
sorry but I'm new to this tool, what is it actually this diagbox? Is it freely available or is it just for citroen dealers? Should I buy it and what else can it do?

Lexia 3 is a diagnostic hardware tool (VCI) that Peugeot Citroen use to diagnose their vehicles, The software is called Diagbox and will launch the relevant version depending on marque and model year.
They are not officially available to the public, so you will only get a clone. It supports diagnostics and certain procedures and telecoding of ECU parameters that the dealer would normally do for replacement parts. It is important hat you get a 'Full Chip Revision 'C' version. There are made by the Chinese and there are a lot of poor quality ones out there. In the UK these range from about £50 (for a cheaper non-full chip one to about £100+ for a decent quality one.
You also need a suitable laptop to run it and there is no official support for these as they are clones - as stated.
The dealer should only charge you a half hour of labour diagnostic time to do this change - which may be a lot less than buying a kit - but depends on your abilities and whether you own or intend to own PSA vehicles in future.

Re: C5 X7 Disable Opening of All Doors, option disappeared
After almost 2 years I still haven't found it! but not giving up!
I use diagbox 7.83 and the options marc (whom I thank for the instructive post) talk about aren't there, I run the global test and select BSI but "Configuration, Manual Configuration, Customer Options" can't be found on my diagbox, I find: IDENTIFICATION, FAULT READING, STANDARD PARAMETER MEASUREMENT, PERSONALISED PARAMETER MEASUREMENT, ACTUATOR TEST, MAINTENANCE - BSI OPERATING MODE.
Really hoping on some more help to find a solution :/

Re: C5 X7 Disable Opening of All Doors, option disappeared
You will need to change the BSI operating mode temporarily to allow configuration. Then you may need to look for the option once you are in this special mode. But be warned - changing values here can have a disastrous effect on the car if you make an incorrect choice. There is no backup!
Also, some options MUST be left with certain values as they apply differently to different vehicles (Peugeot / Citroen / DS), each having different systems for conveying data and displaying info. Furthermore, some options may look as if they are wrong - but are correct as the description often does not mean what you think it does - only in the contrext of the current sub-system or menu.
Always take a screen dump or write down any values you might change so you can put them back after.

Re: C5 X7 Disable Opening of All Doors, option disappeared
Might I suggest you first find out if there is a "Quit without Saving" command, and (if such a command exists) make sure you know how to select it. If you then think there is a slight chance you may have made a mistake during the configuration "Quit without Saving"!!! Making a mistake might well turn an ECU into a brick! It is far better to think you made an error (to then find out you hadn't) than to think it'll be alright and find you were wrong.

As far as I know there is no such option in diagbox and that is very bad, but the software is, let's admit it without going offtopic, very crappy.

It is dealer level and they staff have training on its use at a high cost - it is not officially available to the home user / DIYer.
There is no undo, just a 'go back' option.

Re: C5 X7 Disable Opening of All Doors, option disappeared
Yes, when you run the Global test, select the BSI at the top of the list, and you will have another menu. One of these options will change the mode to customer mode. This will then allow changes, where you need to exercise caution.
I can't tell you the exact path at present, as I have deinstalled my DB V7 version at present, pending getting a newer laptop and installation of V9, as I've sold my X7 recently. But this is where it is from memory.

Try to see if you can get in via:
- Select Fault Finding and complete the Global Test.
- Allow the test to complete fully, then scroll right to the top and select BSI.
- Press the green tick bottom right of screen to confirm selection.
- Follow any instructions to switch the ignition off / on as required.
- From the next menu, slect Repair.
- Next select Configuration.
- Then choose Manual Configuration.
- Next, select Vehicle Configuration.
- Now choose Driver Information.
