Xantia key plip....do you have one for sale please
I bought my car at auction without realising there were no key remotes supplied! Do you have one or two for sale please?

You'll have a hard job getting one cheap, I'm currently trying to get one myself at the moment, best place I can see for them is Ebay, find a car being broken in the parts section and ask for the plip. If you've not got the actual unit with the key already on it (holder that incorporates the key & the remote central locking PCB)you'll need to fit the key to a new one (and possibly remove the old key from one if you buy off Ebay) which involves getting a fitting kit from Citroen for about £2.50 and prising the fob apart, alledgedly you can do it without the need for a fitting kit, but I've not actually tried this since I've got the holder with key on it and just need the inards + rubber buttons.
Anyway, brand new from Citroen you're looking at a price of £80-90 (yes, it's basically just a remote control, but that's dealers for you..) or £80/60 from gsf car parts. Ebay prices vary, if you bid for it from a single auction you're likely to end up paying a fair bit more than you will if you just get one off someone who is breaking a car. See what you can find, make sure you get the right type. I believe at some point (post 1995?) they changed them from infrared to radio.
One you have it, you'll need to program it, there are some guides on here on how to do that. Depends really on how much you're willing to spend and how much it matters to you, I've lived for a year now without the plip and it doesn't bother me, but if you can get a bargain you might as well change it.
It's annoying that Citroen made all the plips so easy to break (the rubber buttons wear) creating lots of demand for replacements. Since it's little more than a remote control I'd like to think there's some way to create your own remote or modify an existing one, but unfortunately I lack the know how/tools to do that.. If anyone knows of a place to get these cheap or some sort of generic car plip that's cheaper, let me know.. :p
