Hello All,
I was wondering if anyone can give some more information in regards to the fuel pump options for my Citroen Xsara 1.9D 2003.
I am looking for a replacement one and was trying to figure out what is the difference in the part numbers and if I need to be making sure they match all the way.
For example the one that is currently installed on the car is a Delphi one with number R8448B391C. The model is DWLP12.
I am finding replacements with a bit difference in the part number at the end for example R8448B371B

Re: Citroen Fuel Pump Question
Is this the DW8B engine? They are normally Lucas pumps.
There are only 2 part numbers listed for this engine, A new one & an exchange one.
If you use a second hand one they are coded to the one car, You would need to either de armor both pumps & swap your coded stop solenoid over to the new pump or fit a regular non coded stop solenoid.

Why are you feeling the need to replace it?

Re: Citroen Fuel Pump Question
Well, I’m looking into different options as it is currently leaking fuel. The reason why I’m considering replacing it is that it seems to be really hard to find someone who can and is willing to service the pump where I live.
So to make sure, as long as the model is the same the part number does not matter? Or am I wrong?
And yes, it is DW8B.

Re: Citroen Fuel Pump Question
Where exactly is it leaking from?, some of the seals are available from Citroen.
Can you confirm the pump make? A DW8B should have a Lucas pump.
When you select Xsara 2 or Berlingo with a DW8B engine on servicebox there is only one pump option showing.
There is a different version though on the Dispatch/Jumpy.

Re: Citroen Fuel Pump Question
Yes, it is indeed a Lucas pump. My mistake.
It is leaking from the top cover of the unit. I understand that there is an option to have it serviced and replace seals, however, like I said I cannot find anyone that can repair it where I live. This is the reason that I am looking into the option of replacing it as well.
