Cannot help with the interior, unless Xantia rubber door seals are similar, have lots of them :rofl2:

Paint work is in the eye of the beholder and what you actually want it to be.
I have done a few small panel resprays but it will never be concours or look like original. Paint tech has moved on so much since the days when i dabbled, if it was me i would take it to a local respected paint shop, get them to look over it and then tell them what you want it to look like.
Any decent local indie paint shop will work with you and be able to explain what they can do

Colin
Thanks , that sounds a great idea I'm going to give that a try
Forgot to say some will try and talk high spec tech, this paint does xyz, this process will do abc etc, the 1 or 2 that actually listen to what you want to have done will be more inclined to talk to you as a human not a cash cow :rofl2:
As for the door/boot rubbers if they are the same or very close you can have them FOC
Yes someone tried 3 years back to charge me 400 to spray the bonnet and said if I did all the preparation too plus the primmer coats !

Door rubbers yeah I'll use them , pm me and where sort something, many thanks.

Wanna keep this old car for as long as I can I love it to bits , never has any car made me smile as much as this.

Head liner .

Has any body tackled this job if so how did you get on ?

My one is carpet / felt glued on a fiber board moulded lining.
Looks like its a peel off and glue back on a new piece of fabric sort of job.

Knowing my beautiful wife she'd want a rainbow pattern type !

What's the best glue and thickness of fabric or what ever the commercial name is for it.

Any pointers ?
Thanks all.

Husky i think you will need to remove the headlining board itself to do the job, somewhere in my old grey matter some one did something similar on a Xantia but cannot remember who.
I think the fabric is something similar in weight to a fitted sheet on a bed, light and stretchy but with a texture like felt as you stated if you are looking to replace.
Something like spray adhesive used for sticking down carpet tiles would maybe a good bet, not done it just thinking lol
Should be possible to remove and re stick existing fabric if you take lots of care

I've had result , I've cured the leak around the front window screen , and I've refitted the liner. I'm going to wait till warmer weather and I've had a price for new material just under 30£ .

My new screen rubber is still missing ... Not very happy ..
The person who has it said there bring it to me tomorrow eve !

Glad to hear it, still very much enjoying my 405; even though I've now done 100k in it taking the Odo reading to 281k. There's something deeply satisfying about keeping a car on the road by your own efforts, which in my case involves a great deal of thought, time & effort and very little money.

My previous 405 had a saggy Head-Lining, and I was really pleased with the result from simply using Drawing Pins to refit it; the backing board is kinda 'card-boardy' so they go in nice n easy

Not seen a ZX anywhere, including in Breakers yards, in a while, but will shout if I spot one on my travels. I do have a number of sources of 405 spares, in addition to my own stash; for that which is not 'ZX specific'.

And I'm a massive lover of the 405 too :D I've had two of them...

I rate the 405, along with the 205 and 306, as the best cars Peugeot has ever made...

And the 306 is just a ZX dressed in different clothes ;)

Ah, how to say :D, was almost down that road with my Kadett E ;).
The real problem was, and still is, 1 worn bore, which resulted in constant lack of power, and because the vacuum servo was fed from the inlet manifold... you get the picture :D

My brakes work but after driving the Picasso you can feel the vacuum difference between the two.

Pedal little hard at times
Brake system is all rebuilt .

It brakes even and stops on the button when needed.

Missing parcel update.
Turned up last night ... Just my name and street name on the front of it !

205 yes drove one the diesel version 20 years ago very much enjoyed that .
