Clio 3 2009, 1.5 dci 'brake fault' & won't turn over

Issue with my clio.
Not driven for 2 days but was driving fine before

Did start Monday morning with loads of bleeps and Brake fault message on dash, but had to turn it off to nip inside.
Back within 30 secs, but won't turn over, won't click....dash lights all come on and go off, except AbS, EML and the BRAKE FAULT message. No beeps, no turning over.
Also noticed that when I turn headlights on, the cluster lights up, but the bulbs in headlamps do not??. Indicators are ok, interior lights ok, etc.

Brake fluid is full.
Fuses seem ok.

Any suggestions?
Diags not showing anything ..someone came and plugged in device.
All he could see was PREHEATING CONTROLER UNIT C: OPEN CIRCUIT. but I guess that's a diff intermittent issue but not related to this ' non starting, no turning over, no clicking' BRAKE FAULT on display.

You may need to check the condition of the battery.
