NewcastleFalcon wrote: 14 Nov 2020, 15:54 Now if this thread is going to be the finest collection of interesting/awful car interiors and dashboards on the net its going to have to include some yellow clocks....

The yellow MX5 mick highlighted for sale at Mathewsons today has the very thing..

I like that yellow MX-5 interior a lot... I like the standard MX-5 S1 interior very much too and as I have an MX-5 as a long-term guest I'm getting quite well acquainted with it... A tremendously well designed dash from an ergonomic point of view and the whole interior is a nice place to be - as long as you're an athlete with the flexibility of the India-Rubber Man and not how can I say, too much on the large side...

Getting in and out for some can be a challenge... I watched the owner's brother - who's by no means unfit or hugely large, quite struggle to extricate himself from it...

Maybe it just takes practice or technique...

Jaguar XK120......you may or may not appreciate the aesthetics of the interior/dash but it hits the interesting button for me because....

It has a reverse sweep tachometer.....what else has :?: Students of todays whatsthisthen? will know at least one other.

I think a reasonable test of interestingness for me is would I take a decent look at it if I saw it in a car park. So most things that catch my attention I would put on the interesting side, and that certainly would catch my attention.

Predisposed to take an interest now in bright yellow steering wheels and seating, but undoubtely elements which are discordant (not always a bad thing) like the wood and the pink.

Now if you just tell us what it is MIck it will save me looking it up.

Passed the double take in a carpark test for me!

Do you think anyone said when they had finished the handbuilding malarkey.....
"that has to be the duffest looking wood ever selected for an Aston Martin?"
...or is it a bit "Emperor's new clothes" everyone thought it was awful but said nothing :-D

Disappointed it does not have a reverse sweep tacho!

Well thats the 100th reply up on the thread thanks to the rhubarb and Custard Aston Martin and boiled sweets. Plenty of interest still to be had. I do like a night-time shot of a dashboard....they come to life a bit.

You can even be creative and the Leaf dashboard lends itself to a bit of seasonal craftwork

not to be opened before December 1st :-D

OEM is white T5's on dash and gauges but on the Beat forum someone tried coloured bulbs

IMAG0224.jpg
the heater dials still have the Blue in i think?
the dash pod is back to White, Red looks good but you cant see the figures properly in the dark
not good in the UK let alone whilst we were in France /Belgium / Spain on unfamiliar roads
