Hi,
I came to my car this morning and after 2 weeks of inactivity the battery was dead.
I’ve gone to my wife’s Citroen C3 (2014) (which is in full working order) to connect jump leads and can’t figure out where to locate the negative terminal. There’s an easy access to the positive but it looks like negative is tucked out the way.
Is anyone able to offer some guidance on where to connect to?

Follow the guidance from the manual and connect to the body earth as specified:
In your case the 'Slave Battery' will be the C3.

So the suggestion from the manual image is that this is the negative point? See attached photo
Maybe it’s just me that thought the connection on the slave battery needed to be made directly on the battery.

That's the correct designated earth point. I would recommend giving it a good clean with a wire brush & coating it in grease, They can oxidise badly over time & make a poor connection.

Certainly it is normal to connect jump leads/charger to both terminals of a battery, but with the way your battery is mounted (and covered) the negative terminal is inaccessible connecting to an earthing point on the chassis is an acceptable alternative.

Tried a few times to jump off the C3 and it hasn’t made a difference to the flat battery. It could be a bigger problem with the flat battery I suppose...

I always prefer if possible to connect directly to the battery terminals where possible. The problem is that on some modern cars with smart charging and/or battery monitoring systems can be affected if you connect straight to the battery terminals. Some cars have covers over battery terminals even though they are accessible with pictures showing jump leads with crosses through them then a picture showing the designated point.
Some even have then on the positive terminal.
