I am paying £95 a month to Scottish Power, been with them for donkeys.
My eldest and youngest daughters are appalled, they pay about half that although they do have smaller houses, 2 beds instead of four. I have solar and so does eldest daughter.

Bargain Basement Electric thread started off one year ago today on 12th November 2019.

The seed was sown, and whether right or wrong I produced my own back of a tab packet calculations and the result...

Over 4 years on fuel savings alone a £10,000 electric car was roughly the same cost as running my bought and paid for £100 Nissan Micra over the same time.

My calcs may differ from others as I regularly do over 12,000 miles/year. But if you are thinking of taking the electric car plunge there is a bargain basement route to explore. Yes you wont be able to buy a car with a huge range but for us in our stomping ground of Northumberland Durham North Yorkshire and the Scottish Borders our 24kWH Leaf is more than adequate.

Now then, anyone got a tab packet?

Could this be made to work? Assume this

1200 miles/month
Current fuel consumption say 10 miles/litre
Current Fuel Price say £1.28/litre
Electricity Cost say 1/4 of Petrol cost
Finance over 48 Months

Not bargain Bargain Basement Motoring as I currently practice, but the difference between petrol and electricity costs for a highish annual milage can make the numbers more affordable for many I suspect.

Not much choice of course for second hand ev's its basically a Leaf or a Zoe and most if not all Zoes you see for sale have the additional battery lease millstone.

Yes this was playing on the radio when I switched on this morning to take the anniversary milage photo! Memories of the legendary NPSU Green Bar Jukebox 1977 for me, the seed of our very own Pickled Egg Jukebox.

Is that word "Cess" a railway term never come across it.

Its disorientating......a large area with no demarkation for parking and no fellow parkers to follow like sheep.

Bit of a personality test.......how do you park? where do you park?

Believe it or not that was an adjusted position......I had left it in a totally squint position to sit and open our thermos and lindt chocolate bar but was instructed to move it and park somewhere else as it didnt feel right!. That second location as per the photo was as conventional as I got :-D

It is Neil, it's the name given to the shallow surface drainage ditches on each side of the ballast formation... The shallow depression adjacent to your Leaf looks a bit like one...

I guess the term is related to cesspit...

Right bang in the middle, slightly obliquely, let the latecomers worry about it.
Works best with a BMW badge.

Some of my neighbours could do with lessons from you. Most are OK but there is a family over the road who can make a four-car slot into a two car slot without thinking - which is the problem really.
