Possible to downgrade 407SW Factory Nav to smaller Multi-Function Screen?

Post by AlvinCitroenC5 »

Hi,

I have a 08 407SW V6 Petro with the factory Nav unit. I would like to downgrade to the factory Navigation unit to the non-Nav system. I have seen older post with a PPT that people back many years ago upgrade the non-nav to the nav unit. I understand that it is quite a bit of work, but if anyone knows the parts I exactly need and if I can get someone to upload a different BSI software, please let me know. Thanks.

BSI software shouldn't need to be replaced and is not something you will find here - it is generally updated only where necessary by the dealer form their servers. If you do change the system to a standard RD4, then you will have to telecode the BSI and configure the replacement Head Unit and screes using Diagbox and possibly other settings like the dashboard ECU too.

Depending on your current system, you will very likely have to downgrade the screen to an EMF 'C' version and replace the Head Unit with an RD4. However I'd need the VIN of your current vehicle to see what you have installed.

A lot of work to downgrade your car essentially - I can't understand why you would want to do this or what purpose it solves?
