I have to say that car was the only four door car I have driven which made me nervous - not from the performance but from being terrified of breaking anything which would need a mortgage to repair! That's the reason I sold it on! Believe it or not I took it in part exchange for an Alfa Romeo 2.0l Spider in mint condition canary yellow! The closest I ever got to keeping one was my Fiat Croma Turbo which I ran for a year or so. Happy Days!! :-D

You would have to fork out a tidy sum to walk away with this bench seat, and white rim steering wheel....

I reckon Gibbo will have been behind the steering wheel of one of these, sitting on a nice bench seat and happily column changing gears :-D

I'm a bit late to the party in this thread and I'm surprised the Series 1 GS dashes have not been mentioned yet...

This was the standard LHD Dash...
GS S1 LHD Dash
GS S1 LHD Dash
Possibly the quirkiest Citroen dash ever!

It was considered too radical for the UK market so we got this beauty :D
GS S1 RHD Dash
GS S1 RHD Dash
Allegedly the LHD community were very jealous of this and they too wanted it rather than their own...

I must admit I rather like the LHD one, it's very quirkiness is very appealing to me :)

The S1 RHD interior generally was a stunner and a very lovely place to be in a very lovely car :D

Jim, welcome to the party, keep popping in! Definitely on the interesting end of the interesting/awful continuum!

Do you recognise where this slightly more awful one comes from...not far from citrojim towers!

Agree with the GS dash Jim. It was so radically different then than anything I had seen previously. The single spoke wheel made so much sense. A very easy and fun car to drive as well as supremely comfortable.

I remember how much I enjoyed that in our BX19 TRD Estate and how frustrated I was to find the 2 extra spokes added on my BX19 GTi 16V!! :)

And there, Steve, you have just summed up what makes the GS my all-time favourite Citroen. I've driven one and was then forever smitten...

At risk of hurting Daffodil's feelings I'd still love to have a Series 1 GS :) My dream Citroen...

It would have to be a bright yellow one and preferably a Break
