Scenic HeadGasket

My mums 1998 Scenic 1.6 8v RT has just blown its head gasket. Has anybody done this job or have a list of operations for it?
I've never found Haynes particularly useful on any of my cars so i cant see why this would be any different.

My wife has got a scenic at the moment, and all i know about it, is access isnt good to the engine at all, especially the top end, half the dash seems to overhang the engine
