Every year I drive along the lane out on to the main road and say 'I'm going to take a picture of that' but never have done in 50 years, if I do this year I will post it.

Well when you set your own quests, they are a bit easier to achieve :-D

The colour would be right for the wonderfully named Liquidambar Styraciflua, but the form and leaf shape doesn't look right :-k

I will get some tomorrow when I go for my regular Half Marathon run in Salcey Forest...

The Forest was just starting to turn last Saturday so by now it should be looking gorgeous...

Attempting to tidy the 'workshop' a bit I picked my plastering gear up and slung it into a box in the cupboard under the stairs.

"Pssssshhhhh" :oops:

Huge can of expanding foam pierced by the corner of the float :(
Only propellant leaking but had to investigate of course. As I lifted the can, that was laid on its side, the foam started to come out. Ran to the garden and chucked it in a bag of leaves.

Good job most of the propellant was gone or I would have had a terrible mess to clear up.

It was a huge industrial can, been in the cupboard for over a decade :( :(

Today's visit was rather special :D See my blog ;)

I had a quick look through last year's pictures of Autumn because one of Jim's reminded me of the path along the River Colne in Bricket Wood:

As well as the beautiful colours of the leaves on the trees, the carpet of the fallen leaves in the woodlands is superb at this time of year. I may well go on a quest to find such a carpet today.

And you are so right Jim, the photograph no matter how good (or messed about with afterwards) only ever produces a small flavour of what you see with your eyes and experience with your other senses in woodland at this time of year.
