Bots.

Unread post by Huskyxantia »

Bots.
I've noticed the amount of BOTS that always seem to visit this site.

Should this be cause for concern & what they all about?

I asked a similar question some time ago and gathered a few replies which may help

Search engine crawler bots, gathering indexing and content data, enabling the Internet to be useful. Nothing harmful. I can’t imagine even the Chinese and Russian ones can find much on here to cause harm. What will they do? Restore a fleet of Invacars? Follow Mick around the country? Marvel at how Gibbo is still so active at his advanced age? Crash trying to make sense of James, or overload trying to get to the end of one of Simon’s posts in one go? 🤣🤣🤣

Thanks for the link to the previous discussion, it saves a bit of typing.

Indirectly the bots are responsible for much of the continuing activity on this site, as search engines (especially Google) are our main source of new members.

Ew, that's revolting. That poor woman. At least she kept smiling.
