The need for celebratory posts seems to be getting more frequent which surely must be a good thing!! This time it's a celebration of my 3900th post. When I set out to post a celebratory car for every hundred posts I made, I didn't expect to get anywhere near this many this soon because I am only too well aware that the bigger the number gets the harder it will be to meet my self imposed criteria. However 3900 is one I have been prepared for from the very beginning because it gives me a chance to post the one and only true supercar that I have ever coveted. I am sure I am not alone in loving this one version of the supercar breed simply because of its incredible looks, fantastic sense of excitement and of course its complete failure as an everyday car. Probably the hardest car ever to live with and certainly one of the maddest designs ever to go into production. Some owners find it so impracticle that they actually remove the rear wing and store it away for safe keeping, but you need a lot of space!!!

So for my 3900th post I give you the rarest version of it I could find:

Once I'd dug out the pigeon poo I filled it with diluted HCl and hopefully while I'm watching the F1 and the England footy it will dissolve itself clearer!! :-D

On Saturday morning a sign appeared on our lampost (good job the fairies had put it back!) saying that all parked cars would be towed away on Monday morning if still there. The plan was to resurface the close opposite starting at 07.30 this morning. So last night all the neighbours and myself had a bun fight for parking spaces up and down the road on the verges. I put the MX3 on our drive ready to go to the MOT this morning and the C5 on the verge up the road. When I got back from MOT there was no sign of any action but 10 minutes ago I heard some movements and had a peek. I was greeted with the expected sight of road workers getting stuck in:

Lets pop down to Cornwall. This must be one of the most oddly named (former) Tin Mines in the Country.
Its near Redruth and very near the United Downs Industrial Estate where an important pilot project to extract Lithium from two deep wells drilled many kilometres into the underlying granite rocks is taking place.

Energy Matters Global and Domestic has the tale.

There was I reading the FCF upstairs this morning when SWMBO, who was in the bathroom while I was in the study, called "Can you smell rubber burning?" I sniffed and yes I could although I hadn't noticed until she called, so I trotted downstairs to discover light smoke drifting from the kitchen. Only the washing machine was in use so I turned it off, opened all the doors and waited!! Well cut a long story.....:

The actual drum axle was bent and the burning had been from the bearing seal in the back of the drum!!
So I rescued the perfectly good AC motor rated to 16000rpm, the control panel to possibly extract parts for motor control and the water pump to possibly assist in a garden irrigation problem which has been in the back of my mind for years!!...Oh yes and I ordered a new washing machine to be delivered on Friday just in time for me to install before I jump on the plane to collect Ken from Alicante!! :-D
