Hi everybody,
I have a problem with my clutch. When the car is in gear or in neutral it runs fine. However, when i press the clutch down I get a funny scratching sound. I also tried pressing the clutch fully down (in gear) and putting a little bit of throttle on, this made the car move. So obviously the clutch is not disengaging fully but i am wondering what is causing this? The gear changes haven't changed how they feel. My first thought was the clutch cable (mine is cable operated clutch and no hydraulic) but after reading a little it looks like it could be the thrust bearing? Any thoughts on this?
Car has around 71000miles.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Clutch problem
Noise could be the release bearing. I don't know if the clutch cable is adjustable on that car, it could mean a worn clutch or a bent fork thats causing the other issue.
Oh buggle

Thank you for the reply.
The cable is a self adjustable type, not sure if this means that it will adjust itself if the cable begins to stretch or if it is just self adjustment for the instalment of the cable?
