speakers on estate

Post by rrijken »

Can anybody tell me the size and depth of the speakers on my c5 x7 tourer? Rear is cracking badly and want to replace. While at it change the ones in front as well guess.... Still have some tweeters around somewhere and maybe also change the tweeters up front on the dash.

Help is again appreciated!

Hi Robert

Citroen Speakers would seem to be 165 Diameter and used across a lot of PSA vehicles.

The parts are 6562X2 / 6562X3, but I can't tell you what the difference is as both are lsited (same with mine as you can see in the diagram - items (2) & (3)

Item (2) 6562X2
Item (3) 6562X3

They are priced int he UK at £16.24 each inc. our VAT. Be wary of aftermarket ones that invariably have the securing holes in the wrong place or are a different fit to the brackets as shown.

Today I changed the rear 2 speakers as they were bad, torn surrounds resulting in bad sound. Right one the cone almost came of, that torn.... Changed them for JBL Stage 602, 6.5" speakers. Holes match up perfectly so the switch was easy. Left me with the question though, if front and rear are the same speakers, why are the rear ones torn but the front ones still ok? Yes, checked the front ones to see if they have been changed by previous owners, but are exact the same....

Hi, did you made modifications to water protective plastic frames? I've changed the speakers this year and will allow you to mount without modifications only slim speakers, no more that 55mm speaker hight.

Have not made any modifications to the plastic frames. Speakers fit without problem.
