I've got an acetylene cycle lamp here :) If I could get hold of some carbide I'd love to fire it up...

I believe acetylene lamps are still used by those who explore caves and potholers and possibly in other critical roles too...

Having watched the video I certainly agree that the animations are farcical but the potential for the light carpet and lane definition is good imo. Anything which helps stop blinding other drivers is a step forward for me. Of course its only really effective if all vehicles have it but its a start. Just cut out the gimickry from the beginning and concentrate on actual safety improvements and I'm all for it! :)

I may be in a minority here, but I'm not a fan of gimmicks that mean the driver has to think and concentrate less about the job in hand. IMO, far too many people jump into the driving seat and put the car in gear at the same time as putting their brain in neutral as it is 8-[
Sadly no longer a C5 owner :(
