Re: Lights! (Interesting and Awful please)
Remember when headlights were round, oblong, even square or just occasionally "fish bowl" or "clam shell"...

Re: Lights! (Interesting and Awful please)
Back in the late 50's Chevrolet we toying with fitting fluorescent tubes in the leading edge of the bonnet of the Impala/Biscayne. If you look at the front end of a '59 you can sort of understand it - but not how it got round US lighting regs (some states had only just legalised "quad" headlights (that's dual/twin to us) - & sealed beams were still mandatory!)

Re: Lights! (Interesting and Awful please)
This little vid shows you! Not quite the whole surround lighting I expected. Looks like they have gone to town if you stick with the vid with their lighting. Yes even party mode to rock to the sound system with a bit of internal lighting synchro-ed to the beat!

Re: Lights! (Interesting and Awful please)
I find old vehicle lighting most attractive and visually pleasing... Can't say the same for the modern stuff...

Hideous... Those styling dept. redundancies are really starting to hurt!
Or was it styled over the 'phone?
Or a quick rush job in the pub on the back of a beer mat just before last orders?

Re: Lights! (Interesting and Awful please)
After last months fairly sparse set of 70reg spots, must have seen 4 or 5 this morning. Of various descriptions. Mostly the ubiquitous SUV....Mercedes and MG and Volvo, and this, what you could call a pumped-up Golf, or a smaller SUV...yes the room 101 contender for a duff marketing name the whatever-cross or the cross-whatever.
This one is the VW T Cross, and scrapes into the interesting/awful lights thread. It caught my eye because it looked clean and white, and there was some kind of joined-up symmetry. I still don't know which side of the scale to put the lights in but seeing as I bothered to take a picture of it I'll go for marginally interesing, and may even look good at night!
What do you think
Regards Neil

Very "morning after the night before" . . . or the hung-over/radioactive sheep from Steve Bell's "If..." strip

Re: Lights! (Interesting and Awful please)
There is no doubt in my mind that the availability of LEDs and their versatility has brought about a large number of 'orrible designs. Bring back acetylene, that's what I say!!
