It is indeed. If you know your Spanish, U2's song Vertigo does not go one, two, three four (uno, dos, tres, cuatro) in Spanish as you might conclude, but one two three fourteen ("Unos*, dos, tres, catorce!")

* Unos literally translates as "some" but more likely to be a bit of imprecision than a purposely intended meaning in the song.

I knew three, and said Worthing before JP had got halfway through the question (mind you, I have been there on work related calls three times this month already!).

Well done Mick/James full house too. It was reading Micks "saunter" thread and the fairly scathing assessment of Worthing's attractions by our West Sussex correspondant which had me buzzing in with that! Didnt even know Worthing had a pier before that never mind a "Pier of the Year".
bobins wrote: 27 Sep 2020, 20:16 Are you just 'passing through' Worthing, or have you plans to visit something there ? Apart from a stroll along the pier, and admire some of the breakwaters I used to maintain, I can't think of a good enough reason to stop off there

One that requires a just a little research.
"We sadly do not own most of the gubbins that goes on offshore wind platforms. That industry has been gobbled up by the Chinese and by the Danes.......we are not getting enough green jobs because so much of the supply chain comes from abroad."

I dont know the answer to the question, and its proving difficult to find. You may be right with
MHI Vestas. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) and Vestas Wind Systems A/S (Vestas) (Danish?)
Their website is a bit clunky to navigate.

Do they manufacture in the UK James :?: and where :?:

I don't know how they rate in terms of "biggest in Britain" but I found Britwind, part of the Ecotricity Group, based in Stroud a fascinating insight to what is happening in the wind power industry in Britain. If you go to the link below, scroll down and you will find an episode of Fully Charged in which Robert Llewellyn meets the owner and makes an interesting watch :

Yes they have this on the IOW, but is it the biggest manufacturing facility in the UK.

I too found MHI Vestas' website a tricky one to navigate but I eventually found this useful guide to their offshore installations based on a map. You can click on the installation you are interested in and find out its details and output:

I think James very likely got it top of his head, so I think I'll move the follow up over top the Energy Matters Global and Domestic Thread. There is much more that is to be discovered on the UK Wind Turbine manufacturing as it is at the moment and how well placed it is to take part in the major ambitions for windpower ambitions for the UK.

We had Mabey Bridge in Chepstow who build towers for wind farms but it was listed to close when the company decided to concentrate on bridge building.
