They look the same as BX panel bulbs as well, I think they pull out of the holder, sometimes damaging the 2 filament wires that make the connection.

They're slightly smaller and don't pull out as the bulb wire ends are welded to the contact pieces..

As I suspected, same as Xantia heater panel bulbs...

I sympathise Jim - my wretched skin does the same these days - makes me look like an old man . Doesn't hurt, but it's certainly unsightly!

I think it is because I am an old man These old arms have had a lot of sun exposure in the past, not least in Australia And when out cycling and running they still get a lot of exposure to all sorts of weather!

I think it's more genetics with me... Dad always had the same problem...

Unsightly and it does worry casual onlookers!

Going to get wet today, running the MK Autumn Half Marathon I'm really looking forward to the event and its a good job I love running in the rain

Not so long ago if someone had suggested I'd pay good money to willingly run 13 miles in the rain around Milton Keynes in return for a teeshirt and a bit of shiny bling I'd have said they were quite bonkers...

Fast forward to this morning and the MK Autumn Half Marathon

A great time for me given the less than perfect conditions

At one point on the course we had a series of flooded underpasses to negotiate

Four times we had to run through here and each time the water was deeper and colder

We were in danger of ending up with trench foot

And running with sodden shoes is like running with blocks of cold lead on your feet! It really cuts your speed... Until the water drains away and your feet start to warm up again...

But I absolutely loved it, the bad conditions just making it all the more fun

This was the first proper mass-participation run in Milton Keynes post the Covid lockdown and it was organised beautifully. We started off in waves of 30, in groups of six (respecting the Rule of Six and social distancing at all times) at ten minute intervals. It worked a treat with no crowding in the start pens and no first mile and first corner bottlenecks as often happens in many mass-participation events We can learn from this

Going back to my opening comment, if, a few months ago, anyone had said I'd have a project car in my garage again in September I'd have said they were bonkers - no way!!

Speaking of project cars, I've ordered a new dipstick and rocker box gasket for Daffodil

Her dipstick fell to bits yesterday... Cheap old Citroen tat... You'd expect it to last longer than 25 years

Thanks James It did! as a good run always does Running releases endorphins - a kind of opioid - and we get addicted, just as you can to any other opioid such as heroin... Except being natural and produced by our own bodies it's perfectly safe and beneficial... But boy, does it make you feel good

I could see when my Mum is next in Devizes, and we could then see if a race to be arranged, to see how many times you, Jim, could run up and down the flight while Mum takes her boat through the flight (typically it can take a boat 20 minutes to go through a single lock, but this depends on the depth of the lock and how quickly the water flows in or out).

Methinks I must do a recce run up the flight and see how it goes next time I'm down that way, possibly later this month...

The only major problem is that, in wet conditions, the brickwork around the locks can be very slippery (especially if some stupid office based idiot decides that glazed bricks should be used, as they look pretty, while not understanding that wet glazed bricks are almost as slippery as wet ice!). Please be careful when you do your recce. There are 29 locks in total, but I don't know if they are a flight or stair of locks (or a combination). A flight is a group of locks with each one separated by a pound, while a stair is two of more locks in a sequence with nothing in between them.

Caen Hill Flight rises by 237 feet over 2 miles. Allowing 20 minutes per lock (and no problems) that could take 10 hours or so! Three people working a boat through can halve that, as they can get the next lock in the sequence ready (so one person manages the boat, one person manages the current lock, while one person runs ahead to set the next lock).

I'd run, where I could, on the grass beside the lock flight... I know (painfully) the hazards of running (and cycling) on shiny wet bricks

That works well James until you meet a boat coming the other way and have to chuck keys for the right to use the intervening lock first!! (We used to chuck keys to decide any dispute between skippers, you tie a line to the lock key and hurl it into the lock and wait till both keys have sunk to the bottom. Then at the "Go" you pull up your key with one hand and the first to get the key in hand wins the dispute!)

Reminded me that I need to attack our path with the pressure washer again...the moss etc that's grown during the summer has made it lethally slippery when it's wet. As I discovered yesterday when I was in a hurry to get back inside during a torrential downpour and landed flat on my back. Much to the amusement of my other half. No harm done save to my pride at least.

I see you already sorted it out, but if my memory is correct, the Xantia instru bulb holders make the electrical connections at the flange, not at the other side of the PCB like the ones you showed.
I have leds into the heater panel
