Could somebody please tell me which firmware version is needed for Diagbox v7.83. Will version 4.3.3 still be ok? Marc's post on the subject only goes up to v7.76. I have a new RevC kit and may have to flash it.
Thanks

Re: Firmware version for Diagbox 7.83
As far as I am aware, Diagbox itself updates the Actia unit as required when the program version is updated. RevC is the latest firmware I think so should be good to go.

You don't need to flash anything Pete.
The firmware is installed automatically by each software update as needed. The process is automatic.

Re: Firmware version for Diagbox 7.83
Problem is I updated to V7.83 through all the tortuous stages without firmware updating allowed, ie MAJ_COM=FALSE. Now changing FALSE to TRUE gives me an updating communication error. However I think I can flash the new unit to the appropriate version using PSA Interface Checker. At the moment only v4,2.2 is installed on the unit. I have downloaded v's 4.3.0 to 4.3.7 but don't know which is right.......

Re: Firmware version for Diagbox 7.83
Just reinstall the last update again and it will update the firmware. Then when the interface connects the next time it will update the unit. I think you have gone over the requirement though with 7.83 for an X7 - that covers vehicles for 2016....

Ah yes. Will have to update my details. Just chopped the C5 for a DS5 2017.
Will try the last update again, presumably after changing FALSE to TRUE?

Re: Firmware version for Diagbox 7.83
Yes, that will trigger the firmware check / update on next connection. Not all upgrades have a firmware update - it depends on the version.
As for your Profile Pete, yes please update it to reflect your DS-badged DS5, thanks.

Re: Firmware version for Diagbox 7.83
So I altered FALSE to TRUE and tried reinstalling the last software update to 7.83. However the same communication error happened again.
Eventually I just flashed the RevC box to 4.3.3 with the PSA Interface Checker and Diagbox now works. At least it does on the C4, I will see what happens with the DS5 over the weekend. For the record I found the later firmware versions here http://blog.obd2diy.fr/2019/02/13/how-t ... -to-4-3-7/
