Peugeot 208 Smeg sat nav issues

Has anyone had a sat nav location issue, my wife's 208 lost its location last year, and was about 10 miles out, after some time, it sorted itself out, but has now stopped again, although the arrow changes direction with the car, the map is currently in the middle of the Wash!
I have checked, and the unit is seeing 0 satellites, and I'm wondering if the ariel base is faulty, the radio is working fine,any ideas?

If you have no satellites then the aerial is the first suspect.

You should be able to buy a cheap GPS aerial and use this to plug into the back of the unit where the GPS aerial plugs in.

Then leave this in place and go for a drive for at least 10 minutes, because it takes this amount of time driving (not standing still) for the GPS to lock onto the satellites. Standing still or parked will not work.

If you are then starting to show satellites after this time, then you know it is your aerial that is faulty. If not, then you need to investigate further.
