Hi everyone,
I recently bought a Peugeot partner 1.6 HDi 75 2007. It’s run perfectly since I got it and the mileage is just shy of 50k.
It started having some sort of oil leak a few days after buying it, just a small patch (I think it could be the power steering fluid as that was really low)
I went on holiday for a week, came home and it just about had enough power to start the van, I drove about 15 miles stopped at a shop and turned my ignition off but left my lights on. Came back to the van and it won’t start, it’s as if an immobiliser is active.
The van bump starts first time but doesn’t start with the key.
Tried charging the battery on a trickle charge over night, the next morning it started by the key but as if there was very little power from the battery so I changed that for a new one and no luck, still as if there’s an immobiliser activated.
Topped up my power steering fluid to just under max, checked my engine oil levels and they’re fine so I’m not sure what else to do.
The clock is flashing but I’m guessing that’s just because I disconnected the battery?
The last thing I’ve got to ask is I get a min - max thing when I turn the ignition on where the mileage is and I’m not sure what it’s for, I’ll try to attach a picture below.
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated as I need the van for a job tomorrow!

Hi, and to the Forum.
The Min Max is likely to the the oil level indication. It is common for vehicles from the PSA Group to show that during the 'wake up' sequence.

If it bump starts its not likely to be the immobilizer, more likely a weak battery.

As the problem has persisted with a new battery, worth checking the state of the main battery connectors, and the main connections to the starter motor.
When trying to start, if you turn on an interior light (for example) and this goes extremely dim as you crank, that suggests that there is a poor connection at/near the battery, and the voltage on the system is taking a dive when the starter motor tries to pull its 200amp or so.
Battery voltage should be around
12.5v, everything turned off, battery decently charged
14.4v, engine running at fast idle or faster
not less than 9.5...10v when cranking.
Starter motor is succeeding to turn the engine over, so the starter motor itself is likely ok.

Re: NOT STARTING Peugeot partner 1.6 HDi 75 2007
I had a similar issue, I made a thread a few weeks ago about this. Same year, same van.
Turns out my starter was dying. Some times a turn of the key and nothing happened at all, other times the engine would crank very slowly. Other times it would be fine, it was worse when the engine was hot. I got another starter from the junk yard and the problem seems to be resolved. Even the "new" starter makes a more encouraging noise! If it has been a town van in it's previous life, the starter has probably been worked very hard over time.
They are a pain to change over.

That's correct, if it was an immobiliser fault it wouldn't bump start.
It's not a Lion branded battery from Euro car parts by any chance?
