Thats it Mick, looks like its brutalist concrete from the outside but its Portland Stone. Was I right would you consider Hounslow West in the boundaries of your stomping ground?

No not really, a bit too far south, I've never been to that station at all, hardly ever used the Picadilly Line other than in the centre of London :-D
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

Time for another dig into my AA Puzzle Book. This time the theme moves from Ermine Street to Watling Street concentrating on the section between Bletchley Park and Watford Gap.

Five questions, 10 points each with a bonus 10 points at my discretion for the best answer to any one of the questions: :-D

1) Which famous racecourse is located on Watling Street?

2) The Watford Gap is the site for which Motorway first?

3) Which place on Watling Street is an anagram of COUNTED?

4) Where might you expect to pop up at breakfast time?

5) What is the name of the aqueduct at Cosgrove and which two waterways cross there?

Enjoy!!

Spoilerising does give others the option to have a go themselves or not as they choose, and points for each question will be awarded on a first to answer correctly basis regardless of whether they are open or hidden. I will post the actual map from the book later if there are still unanswered questions after tonight's football. So first 10 points to Neil. :-D

5) What is the name of the aqueduct at Cosgrove and which two waterways cross there?

Spoiler: show
Should have had a guess at the waterways -which are The Grand Union Canal and the Great Ouse but what is the aqueduct Called? This describes it as the Grafton Street Aqueduct built in 1991.

Interesting answer there Neil, that's 40 points scored so far although the Aqueduct does have a coloquial name which I have on the card. Silverstone was off course, see what I did there?, wrong!! :-D

Its the "famous" word thats putting me off on that question....Undoubtedly this one is bang next to Watling Street but it hardly justifies the adjective "famous".
Spoiler: show
Towcester racecourse is right next to "The Street"

Are we perhaps looking for some properly famous racecourse name adjacent to Watling Street called something like Aintree avenue (er there is one in Towcester!), Ascot hall, Epsom, Newmarket, Longchamp, the Curragh

That's the full 50 points scored plus the bonus 10 for the postcard. Well done Neil, it seems our other quizzers are occupied elsewhere this evening! I was a little dubious about the word 'famous' myself but as I took the question from the book I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt! :-D To tidy up the last loose end the aqueduct apparently is known as the 'Iron Trunk' !! :-D

Are there enough Clues in this Video to work out which German City these Taxi's in regulation German Taxi Beige were filmed :?:

Zero points for the answer "No"
100 points for identifying the German City and producing the evidence to support your case.

No holds barred....find out however you can....and I don't know the answer but have an inkling.

Bon Chance!
