A semi-educated guess The Prospect Of Whitby.

There was a rumour that anyone from Whitby that visited there got their first drink free.
Probably nonsense and that was over half a century ago.

The shipyard was Eves'. Long gone, bought by Keith Schellenberg (look him up) and turned into a nightclub.
May have been known as Whitehall Shipyard.

It is indeed the Prospect of Whitby well done, and an interesting pub on many counts including a bit related to recent FCF trivia viewtopic.php?p=649032&hilit=fuchsia#p649032

Was the one, still unofficially going by the Whitehall yard.

Researched - It would appear the other one is by Canaletto but I don't recognise it at all, apparently also of Old Walton Bridge.

2 out of 2 there Mick. So the Chain now resides at Walton-on-Thames. I see just across the bridge is Shepperton, now I have heard of Shepperton Studios. Plenty of scope for another link. Turner, Canaletto, Fords Thames brand etc etc

As we have reached Walton I feel a story from 1980 is warranted. Bob and I and another friend Lee did a sponsored charity walk from Brighton to Watford raising funds on the way. We left Brighton on Friday lunchtime and reached Walton on Saturday teatime. Our route took us over Walton Bridge to the Red Lion in Russell Street where the landlord had agreed to let us park our support motor caravan driven by Bob, which had been loaned by a local company in Harpenden, overnight. When we arrived we discovered that the landlord had advertised our coming to his locals and they had laid on dinner for us, followed by a games evening which generated a further £42 for the kitty. The only downside was that when we woke on Sunday morning, severely hungover, we had to get back on the road and walk it off!! We arrived at Watford Exchange Sports and Social club at 5.30pm where we were welcomed by an enormous gathering of work colleagues, friends and family. In total we raised just over £1400 for The British Heart Foundation and vowed not to do that again!!

As Neil pointed out it is only a stone's throw from The Red Lion to the Shepperton Studios so I decided to have a stroll through the list of films made there since the 1940's. Looking for one which would provide a link to move the chain on, I had to go as far as the 1980's before I found a link with an obvious journey in mind. That film was David Lean's last film, and his first for fourteen years following Ryan's Daughter. The film was called "A Passage to India", what better link could we find to further our travels? So a trip to India from the film would have taken us to Chandrapore, a fictional city in the 1920's time of the Raj, but we do not do fiction on the chain so here is an open view of the most fascinating city in India, according to my daughter who has visited most of India,:

That reminds me of the bathroom in a Bognor B&B I once stayed in which was exceedingly well fitted out with bath, shower, twin basins, toilet and bidet.
Above the bidet was a sign which read Neither Bognor Basin!!
