Good stuff Mick, definite times 3.45 at Alnwick 5.21 Away from Alnmouth so well withing possibilities and with so little air traffic in general about I think that could very well be it. Never set the time on the camera so it still thinks its january 2010!
:-D
That cooast crossing point recorded is probably 15-18 Miles south but the plane was south as opposed to being directly overhead.

I think we have a match beyond reasonable doubt....top work Mick

My first call of the day was in Gloucester, and I got an unusual shot of the Cathedral from Gloucester Quays;

I won't be going to Gloucester again until I get my parking moan resolved.

Had a trip into Chepstow after lunch today then past the racecourse, all round the Wye Valley road to Tintern and Redbrook then up from there to Clearwell to drop off my friend and back home to Bream.

They were at Lydd on the south Kent coast, I remember watching them back in the '50s. The Hillman minx is a rare one, I had a saloon but don't think I have seen a convertible.

Am I right in thinking we had a little bit on Lydd in our discussion prompted by the girls on scooters a few weeks ago?

Edit, yes I see I was,I missed a few posts on here while trying to watch a film and find tube station lights!! :-D

A fiver was more than I was earning in a week in the '50s. three pounds a week in my first job in London in '54 and I had to pay my rail fare out of that - and I had a scooter like that too, not until '55 though, so they would have been older than me. :shock:

Didn't go near the bridge Neil but I do have a few photos of the floral decoration in the town.....still in the camera. :)

There were a lot of motor bikers around, one had a huge noisy machine parked with its rear end facing into the Costa coffee outdoor seating area, he fired it up with a big bang from the exhaust and roared off leaving the lady sitting at the next table to us brushing hot soot off the back of her legs. :shock:

You took your camera and pressed the shutter....thats the main thing.... :-D

We get a lot of bikers on the roads around here. I suppose in the 1960's it may have been intimidating to see a huge mass of leather-clad bikers on noisy machines heading your way. Nowadays they are a group of in the main middle aged and older men heading for a cup of tea!
