Hi I have a fault code P0423 Atomizer for injection of fuel at the exhaust. It showed up today after changing the air intake temperature sensor. My Van has been having a strange problem like a diesel knocking noise but it only occurs when the air temperature is cold ie below 12c. This week has been good to me as the problem had been fine for summer at temperatures above 20c, but then because we have had colder temperatures the problem has shown up again. When it makes the diesel knocking noise there is a slight drop in power and the fuel economy reduces.

If anyone can help it would be appreciated, here in France the specialist diesel mechanic suggested just change the engine....
