It is not bad from the drivers' perspective, as the majority of the systems are facing the driver. The model I chose (from the options I was provided with) had the most adjustable seat (which is why I chose it, as I will spend a LOT of time driving her), but the biggest drawback is a (comparatively speaking) tiny fuel tank; around 50l (the previous Combo had a 60l plus tank). Mind you, I think this may be because some of the available space (for fuel tank) has been taken up by the AdBlue tank.

I have read very little about the adblue engines. Am I right in thinking it is a reworked system to get rid of the old DPF and additive, and if so how often do you have to feed it? I ask because I have hired a Relay with the system twice so far and never put any in!!
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

I don't know how the system works, but I top up the AdBlue every time I top up the fuel tank (although there is a system that will let you know when you are running low I have not waited for it to ask). The problem is that AdBlue crystallises very easily, so any that get spilt in the filling space will dry to white crystals almost instantly (OK, not THAT quickly, but you get my point), so now I put some paper towel below the AdBlue point before adding any, so I can keep the space clean.

Is it generally available across all filling stations or only at certain outlets?

Every station I have been to has had AdBlue available in 5l cans (for around £10). There are now lorries that use AdBlue, and in lorry quantities AdBlue is usually cheaper (but I haven't room for a 20l drum!).

OK Thanks James, I had a quick dig and came up with the wiki description which is quite interesting!

Mind you, whoever came up with the stuff is definitely taking the p155, as 1/3 is urea (the major organic component in human urine!), and the remainder is deionised water.

Since it is injected into the exhaust flow does that mean that finally we have a use for pi55ing into the wind?

Re: Adblue
I've moved all those last posts into a new topic as it was rapidly going off topic
But, as you asked. Adblue has nothing to do with replacing DPFs. Adblue is simply the Urea that is used in SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) systems. SCRs are used alongside diesel particulate filter systems and work to convert the NOx into water and Nitrogen. So separate systems that work together. Blue HDI vehicles therefore require diesel additive for the DPF system and Adblue for the SCR system.
A video on the PSA system will explain it far better:

Thanks Marc and Chris, it was my fault I'm afraid, going off topic that is, much better now to have a topic of its own as it is a significant subject!

Re: Adblue
I have a possibly useful tip. The AdBlue tank on my Vauxhall Combo (which is similar to the Citroen Berlingo and Peugeot Partner) is about 15l capacity, but there is no gauge for it. I have learnt that when you get the "Starting impossible in XXXkm" there is over 10L capacity available in the AdBlue tank. This means you can add 10L without any slopping out or needing to be stored (as AdBlue has a short shelf life you don't want to store it for any length of time).

Re: Adblue
Not ALL Combo components are the same, as PSA only joined the venture at the time in 2017 and it was some models from 2018 that shared bodywork and some main components.
The Berlingo VAN's Adblue tank (2018+) holds roughly 17 litres.

Re: Adblue
Just fill up the AdBlue when it asks for it - you get the first warning at 1500 miles, plenty of time to act! Our C4GP does about 8000miles on 10l. Original fill (around 15l) lasted to 12k, have since put in 10l at 20 and 28k, now on 35k, so expect it will ask for more in a 1000 miles or so.

Re: Adblue
I simply top mine up every few months and that ensures the tank remains near full - as I don't want any of the issues with crystallisation on the components with too much air in the tank / rusting...
