Re: Citroen C4 - Tyre Pressure Sensor pairing
Ok, I'm back in the zone - MS and I are old friends - I always win in the end. It sneaked in some updates whist I had to disable the windows update blocker to allow a specific update I wanted using another utility - long story, but will be staying on 1909 for a long time yet I think.
Back to the issue:
Ok, so the light has obliterated the last part of the text on your last screenshots, but what I think it is saying is that to completely disabled and re-enable it, the configuration settings need to reflect the status in both the BSI and in the instrument panel ECU. So I assume both areas were disabled previously. So next locate the instrument panel ECU from the Global Test and make sure the option is enabled there.
It should then be a matter of programming them / pairing them again once this has been done.

Theres no option to enable this in the instrument panel ECU. Went thru it multiple times. Intresting... Any other ideas? Its crazy how hardit is to activate itGiveMeABreak wrote: ↑02 Aug 2020, 15:54 Back to the issue:

Ok, so from V7.58 the ECUs can be tested and accessed separately - so may be worth going to 7.58 and see if you can locate it then. The Instrument panel ECU might be called COMBINE from memory...

Re: Citroen C4 - Tyre Pressure Sensor pairing
Thanks Marc!
I updated to v7.58, stuff do look different in diagbox.
Now i got a menu option to "enable / disable the DSG system" (inside REPAIR -> DSG), but it points me to the accessories menu. Where the heck is that? I went thru most of the diag in the past 3 hours but nothing like that anywhere.
Edit: The Instrument panel ECU / COMBINED doesnt have anything about DSG. You can test stuff and configure what can be shown on the middle screen as info. (no dsg in there)
Pic attached.

Re: Citroen C4 - Tyre Pressure Sensor pairing
No problem - have a look right at the beginning when Diagbox opens - it may be called CUSTOMER OPTIONS or similar (they keep changing the locations and names all the time)!

Re: Citroen C4 - Tyre Pressure Sensor pairing
The first option is something like that. "Customer delivery" maybe, I will check that in a bitGiveMeABreak wrote: ↑03 Aug 2020, 18:01 No problem - have a look right at the beginning when Diagbox opens - it may be called CUSTOMER OPTIONS or similar (they keep changing the locations and names all the time)!

Well, that did it!GiveMeABreak wrote: ↑03 Aug 2020, 18:01 No problem - have a look right at the beginning when Diagbox opens - it may be called CUSTOMER OPTIONS or similar (they keep changing the locations and names all the time)!
All it took was press activate in that menu and drive 2km.
In that customer delivery menu i changed my tire settings to the correct size too, wonder if that help anything.
Im very grateful for your help and time Marc!

Re: Citroen C4 - Tyre Pressure Sensor pairing
Having corrected the tyre settings could have an effect on systems that read the wheel activity. If the setting were wrong the speedo could be out (and, possibly, the milometer as well), as it is driven by looking at the ABS sensors, and not from the gearbox. However, others with more knowledge than I will be able to explain more clearly and accurately what the consequences are.

I ordered one on May 14th, still hadn't got it. Due to the Covid 19 shipping takes time till it arrives. Once I have it - I'll post if I succeed in activating the TPMS - and the procedure.
Zohar
The link doesn't work anymore.
I suppose it is about an "Exciter" tool for activating the TPMS sensors.
Did you receive it and does it work well?
If yes, I would thank if you could provide information for searching it.
Thanks

Re: Citroen C4 - Tyre Pressure Sensor pairing
What a pity. Thanks for the info.
I am looking to Autel tools, namely the entry level TS401 (about 100€, clone from China), but their info for my wife C4 Picasso 2009 mentions Copy method. I am afraid this means copying the existing original sensors ID to their programmable sensors only, but what I want is to activate low cost sensors 9673860880, write their ID directly trough Diagbox and expect the ECU to recognize them without the special Citroen Exciter tool. .
Otherwise, I'm thinking in bricolage for replacing the battery of the original ones, but maybe the sensors turn into sleep/not activated mode and I get into the same situation.
It’s really difficult to find info sbout the Citroen Exciter and the way it works...

Re: Citroen C4 - Tyre Pressure Sensor pairing
The 2 systems work together - one to inflate the tyre to a certain pressure to activate the sensor transmission from sleep mode and then for the TPMS sensor to register and pair them using Diagbox. You can't write anything to the ECU directly as far as I can ascertain without DB.

Re: Citroen C4 - Tyre Pressure Sensor pairing
I have the DB, Diagbox, and already wrote the ID of the new sensor. DB now says that tyre location does not send ID and now I'm blind about the status of the TPMS, if activated or not.
By the way, I've already tried inflating to 3,5 and 5 bar and deflating afterwards, with no success.

Re: Citroen C4 - Tyre Pressure Sensor pairing
Does anyone know more details about the special tool "Tyre inflation valve forcer"?GiveMeABreak wrote: ↑01 Jul 2019, 16:28 No - unfortunately they need reprogramming if the wheels have been rotated for example and you'll need the 'Exciter' tool or similar that works in conjunction with Diagbox to do this. So unless you know the correct position of the original wheels you'll have to re-programme them.
The C5 X7 Procedure:
A programming procedure is compulsory for the following components:The programming procedure requires the use of a special tool: "Tyre inflation valve forcer".
- Wheel transmitter module
- Main set of wheel transmitter modules
- One additional set of wheel transmitter modules
Programming procedure:This operation must be carried out for each wheel when programming a complete set of wheel transmitter modules or rotating wheels.
- Overinflate the wheel to be programmed to 3.7 bars
- Wait one minute
- Deflate the wheel to reach the standard inflation pressure recommended by the manufacturer
- Fit the special "tyre inflation valve forcing tool" onto the valve in order to inform the tool of the new pressure value in the wheel
Can a common TPMS tool like Autel TS401 or Autel maxiTPMS PAD br used instead?
I have Diagbox, already activated a TPMS sensor in a tyre shop with Gutman(?) tool, but only when inflated above 3, 5 bar starts to give info of puncture or if more inflated info becomes low pressure. When in normal preassure error appears - no sensor info received. It looks like calibration is missing...
Thanks
