Re: Dehumidifier water for coolant mix ?
I'm curious to know how particulates in the coolant would find their way into the DPF....

Re: Dehumidifier water for coolant mix ?
Thank you for posting that up Gibbo. I was increasingly horrified reading through this thread that posters are using the terms deionised and distilled interchangeably and indiscriminately.
Distilled water leaves all impurities behind, both dissolved and particulate. Deionised water only has the dissolved ionic impurities taken out and relies upon filters, of one kind or another, to take dust and other particles out. Deionised water is much cheaper than true distilled water.
I was curious to read the article in the link claiming that distilled water is corrosive and I must say I'm struggling on that one. Interesting that they reckon that softened water is best for engine cooling as I have often wondered about the sodium ions in the softened water we have in France. Softened water shouldn't be used in lead-acid batteries though. Deionised or distilled only please. With a possible exception of very soft tap water in an emergency.
As I get older I think a lot about the hereafter - I go into a room and then wonder what I'm here after.
