Is that on all pages or just the forum index?bobins wrote: ↑23 Jul 2020, 17:21 I've noticed today on both Androids/Chrome and W10/Firefox that I'm occasionally showing as logged out on the forum index page, but if I go to any of the individual forum sections I'm shown as logged in. I'm not actually having to manually log in at any time though.

Just the forum index, but only as a random feature. As soon as I click into any of the sections (Citroen, OTCL, Blogs) I'm logged in.

I have been tuning the server caching software, and it seems that it is sometimes sending a copy of the page that guest users see. Which link are you clicking to get to the "logged out" page?

I'm clicking on the 'Board Index' just below the Paypal Donations button, top left, below the banner. It's currently showing me logged out more times than it's showing me logged in when I go to 'Index'.

I have now turned on some extra logging (for a short period), could you please try to replicate the problem, and if you succeed, tell me exactly what time it happened, preferably using forum time which is on the index page just below the banner on the right.

It's just happened a couiple of times when going to view / reply to your post here. Didn't catch forum time - as it didn't display as I was logged out, but it'd be 20.42 and 20.43 UK time.

In a logged in status, I don't get an accurate 'forum time' displayed. Is that right ?

I have just changed a server setting which may fix this issue. Either way it is strange, as the behaviour should be consistent.

Re: Forum scheduled maintenance 17/07/2020 - 31/07/2020
For info, despite repeated attempts over the last 30 mins, I've not been able to replicate the 'logged out' status anywhere, apart from the 2 occasions mentioned above.
Edit - I typed this as your above post was been sent.

Re: Forum scheduled maintenance 17/07/2020 - 31/07/2020
I just logged in on a separate page, and the time/date on the board index has not changed. Closing both pages (so I do not have an FCF webpage open) and then opening a new index page has not changed those values.

Re: Forum scheduled maintenance 17/07/2020 - 31/07/2020
To clarify a little (for those who are familiar with such things), we now have server-side page caching of most common pages for guest users. It should not have any affect on logged-in users, who should always see the live pages.
Unfortunately the documentation for configuring the page caching is rather sketchy, and 90% of the documentation available is actually for a different version of the software which has a different configuration interface, so there is a certain amount of guesswork involved in configuring the settings.

Sorry to raise another one, but another issue I've found over the last couple of days is when it comes to quoting a post with image(s) in it. The image(s) won't display in the quoted portion as the abbreviated image URL doesn't resolve properly.
In the below quote of Mick's post, I have to manually append before to get the image to display, otherwise it would just show as "Image"

Thanks for the report. I think that is unrelated to the caching issue, but is a side effect of another bug which is on my todo list. I should be able to sort that over the weekend.
