Well I think we have ended up in Haworth now seing as Mick has linked Bobins Triumph Toledo with his own Haworth, but the loose end of Mick's link requires tying up.
Salisbury.....a roundabout link involving a trip to Africa......and ending at the Bronte Parsonage in Haworth.
Now I did a little bit of Ferreting and speculated that the Africa interim link may have something to do with the former Salisbury now Harare in Zimbabwe. to which Mick replied "That is the African link, Clue: I came across it while on Booking.com the other night!!"
Thats it in a nutshell anyone come up with the link?

Well with Mick referring to Toledo Ohio I preseume he has got it.
So the Connection for me would be Through Salisbury transmissions Limited of Witton, Birmingham and Bridgewater, which had a connection with Spicer Manufacturing Corporation of Toledo, Ohio.

Well I was anticipating another Charlie Chester classic Mick but I think its a bit more straightforward.

So we could go from Salisbury Wiltshire over to Harare (previously called Salisbury) Zimbabwe and find accomodation at the Bronte Hotel. Inspired we could then return to England to the Bronte Parsonage at Haworth.

I did find out in my meanderings that a firm called Bronte do a "Salisbury" Scarf, and for an even more direct link book a massage here https://www.facebook.com/relaxwithbronte/

Well I'll take us to Athenry in Galway. I was surprised that the famous song about the days of the famine was only written in 1979 but since adopted for many Irish Sporting occasions.

Did discover an interesting connection with Birmingham but I'll leave us in Athenry, Galway and Ireland overnight. :-D
The de Birmingham family held the lordship of Birmingham in England for four hundred years and managed its growth from a small village into a thriving market town. They also helped invade Ireland and were rewarded with the Barony of Athenry. They were stripped of most of their lands in England by the notorious John Dudley, Duke of Northumberland, who held sway over Edward VI during the early 16th century.

Well having landed at Athenry Castle, I'll take us on a link to another Irish Castle, Bunratty in County Clare.

..and with it being Tea Towel Day on room 101 there is also a personal link in that amongst the tea towel collection we had when I was a boy, was a souvenir linen tea towel with Bunratty Castle on it. Not that we had ever been to Bunratty before or since but these things appeared via my gran and grandpa who both worked for Lord and Lady Gort who restored the castle.

I remember the Sweet Afton Cigarettes which they used to bring back, an "unusual" brand for my tab packet collection!

So we are in Bunratty and there's tea towels, and Sweet Aftons to generate a link from. Apparently they had a certain "cool" factor...and Jean Paul Satre and Thomas Shelby (him off Peaky Blinders) more recently used them as their preferred brand!
