C3 Picasso advice?

Unread post by numnuts »

Hello guys.
I am considering buying a 2009 C3 picasso 1.6 hdi. It has done 105k miles. I just wondered if anyone has any experience of these; is that mileage high for that engine? Etc. Tanks in advance for any advice.

Hi. The most recent had just one advisory, slightly corroded exhaust bracket, but on two previous ones, the emissions have been excessive.

Personally I would pass unless there is a good explanation and evidence of a repair/replacement that cleared emissions

I wonder if the emissions tests had been done with a cold engine? That does affect the test. In the past, when I have taken a car in to be MoTed I have always taken the car for an 'Italian Test' first, to get her warmed up and blow the cobwebs out.
